Question about weapon mods

I was wondering how weapon mods work. For example, if I get blind and then switch to my -20% blind shield decrease the blind time, or do I have to get blind while I have my shield equipped for it to work. Same for all other conditions.

If you know you're coming up against blind though,sit in the blind set.

For the condition to be reduced you will have to have the item equipped before the condition hits you, not change to it after you have been blinded.

Of course you have to have it equipped when you get the condition to gain the benefit, its pretty much common sense...
