Your Stupidest Way Losing Legendary Survivor?

...I for some straaange RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing reason always lose it to scrapping with low-level fleas. Like seriously, I got myself killed by a bunch of God damned level 5 boulder elementals in Old Ascalon.

i think the worst way i lost my legendary survivor, before i quit, would have to be going outside boreal station to kill wurms and end up lagging out and dying against them at 40exp away from legendary survivor(this was before the "i can redo legendary survivor even after i die" update). Needless to say that bugged me always seeing it so close to leveling up but never quite being there.

Ahh see that is crushing, and I feel for you. I never knew about survivor title until the new system rolled out and I read about it. I'm part of the coddled generation of gw players.

I kind of dozed off during the repetition of Kilroy and was killed for it, not my proudest moment.

I enjoyed Falken punching may way to it again though, and with the right scrolls and some decent drops, it wasn't too bad.

vaettir farming with my sin, sneezed during SF recharge and hit 3 instead of 2 and thought sf recharged...woops

I was farming Vaettir on my sin with about 40k to go when I dc'd in a mob...

Paying for a run in Ruins of Morah, and the runner failing (I closed gw, but ofcourse the lag killed me). I found it pretty stupid of myself to depend on others for such a title. After this I usually stopped progress in NF on a survivor character once they reach the ruins of morah mission and start factions/proph.
This was before the "counter resets after death and you can try again" update, so out of frustration I stopped playing that character and in the end deleted it for a mesmer that did get survivor by questing and missions in HM (but not ruins of morah obviously )

Also I finished my survivor title on a character by doing the old ss/lb farm in the wurm with henchies. After getting the title, I joined a pug, and died on the first run (not on purpose ><)... I was obviously very relieved I alrdy just got the title. So for anyone thinking of doing the title: do not trust pugs ^^

Really, any method that revolves around events mostly outside of one's control resulting in the loss of the progress would qualify as a stupid way to lose it.

I proudly belong in this thread, then! I've never lost a Survivor due to circumstances out of my control -- it's always been good ol' stupidity on my part!

I don't count my first character -- a ranger -- I re-rolled a bunch of times in Prophecies trying to get level 20 without dying. After about 5 tries, I told my friend, "Ain't gonna happen on my first character."

Second character, an elementalist, made it all the way to the Crystal Desert. Attained Survivor. I had done the Khepket Marrowfeast HM Zaishen bounty on my ranger no problem. Tried it on my elementalist and was totally bombed by some traps. The heroes were safely flagged back, though.

Third character, a ritualist, got to 500k experience by just playing the game. My friend took me out to the Snow Wurms to show me HM solo spirit spamming. "Totally safe way to get Legendary Survivor!" "Cool!" I said. He started heading back to the portal. I spotted a locked chest across the bridge.
"Ooh, a chest!"
Pop, pop, pop went all the aloes. Dead, dead, dead went me.

These were all before the "you can keep trying" update. I didn't re-roll them, but the ritualist came close. I've gotten a lot of other Legendary Survivors in multiple ways since then. I'd imagine I'll get the failures their titles one of these days.

Stupid ways to accidentally lose Survivor != Epic ways to kill a Survivor on purpose.

My former guild leader forgot to deactivate the catapults in Ice Caves of Sorrow...

I once sneezed and lost it...

Getting killed by 2 char seekers (dual shot).
I frenzy healsigged to see if they could kill me, shortly after I knew the answer...

I was doing winds of change on 2 accounts at the same time, forgetting that my alt had 1.1 mil xp towards survivor. I left him far away from the group thinking he would be safe

I turn to my 2nd monitor and see the biggest mob of afflicted insta kill him. Don't really care since it's an alt but still annoying and entirely my fault

Prolly walking in the traps in catacombs.
Or in the cross-fire of catapults in the "Ice gate" mission.

Ok, those aren't deaths so far away from restart a character (before title update...), but the way happened were enough to be pissed anyway (finally got my r3 at third try after those).

was working on my necro getting leg survivor via capping on the capping weekend. was buffed up and protect yeah i lag and so did my heroes..died via a small group of kourna outside chantry with 300k to go to r2 survivor..*sighs*

Forgot to unflag my heroes and rushed C-spacing alone into a huge mob, then I died miserably ^^ That was my first LS3 attempt at around 800k exp before the survivor-update.

Doing gate of madness, managed to body block myself next to shiro, pewpew, 200k to r3, then I realized that was the afk to r3 mission....

I lost my surv in stack of traps outside Boreal Station during wurm farm.
I had nearly 1 200 000 XP.

I left one just in range of those Ice Darts in the Snowmen lair. I'd killed all the enemies in sight, was busting for a break, came back and he was goooone
Was well over halfway through R3. Never go AFK!
