GW-EN's Wintersday Song Competition

Hey everyone!

We are back once again with the Wintersday Song Competition!

SONG COMPETITON!?! What do I need to do?!

Below is everything you need to know to enter and/or vote for this Winterific event!


1. What type of song are you looking for?

We want the songs to be to the tune of a Holiday/Christmas song.

The lyrics need to be about Guild Wars, The Gaming World Entertainment Network or Video Gaming in General!


2. What format should I create them in?

We typically are looking for .MP3 format, but if you submit a .WAV file that is fine too.

3. Should I add music in the background?

That is entirely up to you, if you want to do it Acapella, Rap, Country etc. ..you pick your style and go for it! ( Be Creative)

4. How are you picking the winners?

4 GW-EN staff will be judging the entries...along with the communities votes. In case of a tie, the Community Vote will decide the winner!

5. When are they due?

December 18th at Noon EST!

6. How long should the song be?

Songs can be anywhere from 1 minute to a maximum of 8 minutes.

7. Okay okay..so what are the awesome prizes for this competition?


1st Place - 1 Guild Wars 2 PAX Exclusive T-Shirt

2nd Place - 1 Guild Wars 2 Bandana and a Guild Wars "Series 2" Skill Pin Set

3rd Place - 1 Set of Obsidian Armor with complete FoW run and Loot rights! ( with the GWEN crew of course!)

5 Honourable Mentions will receive a Guild Wars 2 Postcard!


8. FANTASTIC! So where do I send my awesome song...by the deadline?


All entries should be emailed to Rhonda aka M A L I B U Barbie at [email protected]. Don't forget to put "SONG COMPETITON" in the subject. We wouldn't want your wonderful song to end up in the trash.


** REMINDER**

No swearing, bullying and/or racist material should be in the songs or they will be excluded.


To Guilds/Alliances : If you do this as a group...we are sorry to say that there is only 1 prize per group. We mean this competition to be an individual effort..but if you don't mind "Sharing" the prize...go for it!

Winners will be announced during the ANKH Wintersday Bash on December 30th!

Are the actual songs going to be released to the public? Otherwise, I would feel a little worried since my voice isn't the best :P

I hope you give us options as to whether or not we, the song creators, want the public to hear the song or not.

Yes, all songs will be played on-air between December 20th and 30th Also, people will have to listen to them to vote on the song of choice..so there will be download links on the voting poll.

So entering this competition means you give us the rights to play your song and pass it on

Ah, the reprise of a fantastic event. I hope a bunch of people participate (even if I probably won't have the time...)!

We will have the forums updated by the 20th for your voting pleasures Voting closes on the 29th so make sure you check out the songs All of the songs will be available to for everyone to hear via our forums as well. Congrats to everyone ..it was a very hard decision that myself, Sharn , Gallo and Judge had to make...while having your votes influence us to the max!
