Why am I so unlucky?

I have done clearing the chamber about 40 times,and not once have I got a ecto. Is there any reason?

Clearing the chamber is killing the Grasping Darknesses. They cannot drop ecto, ever. For ecto you have to kill the Bladed Aatxes and Skeleton of Dhuum. If you did kill the Aatxes and skeles then you're just unlucky or with heroes stealing ecto drops.

I have 7 active characters. I think the luck varies between them. The warrior is simply unlucky. I don't think warriors per se are unlucky, just this one. My assassin simply rolls in drops. If there is a green around, the monster just walks up and hands it over. Incredible. Now in theory all this is pure bunk and just not true. But my experience of the game leads me to think otherwise.
So your character may just plain be unlucky. However, ecto drops are not only rare but weird. I used to run speed clears. Never got one ecto in about 10 runs, not one. This with the warrior. Gave up on speed clears.

That's what I was doing not killing the grasping darkness's. I ignored the quest

Sooner or later you will get your luck.
I never had any luck on chests/ b day presents.
Then I finally got a q9 obby edge from fow chest doing FOWSC on my war, about 10 trips later I got another one. Just wait for your luck, it will come someday. For now i'm just arguing with myself wether to open my 6th bday present or just sell it.

Once again the words "Random means Random" gets uttered.
Ive done uw several times on diff chrs just doing team farming with guildies - many runs ive had zero ectos and a few with at least 1 ecto.Uw has a chance for ectos to drop - key word being chance, its not written in stone stating you WILL get an ecto in each uw visit.
Heck when i was doing skele farming for halloween an survivor i never saw a single ecto drop and one point i had covered 1/2 of uw.
Each drop in Gw is governed by randomness - if it wasnt then the whole gw economy would be bust and ectos worth 100g and uw armor would be damn cheap.

How many aatxe and skeletons are you killing before mapping out? I haven't done this in a while, but as I recall I usually go clockwise and start with the 2 or 3 aatxe and 1 skeleton up the stairs to the left, then another group of 2 or 3, another group of 2 or 3, then I go up the far stairs for the 1 aatxe and 3 or so skeles. I also go on to do the Clear the Chamber quest and kill any other easy to reach aatxe and skeletons that that opens up before resigning. I usually get at least 1 ecto a run this way, and often 2, sometimes 3 and rarely 4 or more.
