Do req8 items drop?

Hi everybody,

I've got a question that i did not find in here, maybe cause of my terrible searching skills...? either way, I want to know if Max req8 weapons/shields/foci drop or not.
Some say that req9 is the lowest nowdays due to updates, some say ofcourse it can drop...

So if someone knows, please enlighten me!

I still get r8 drops in Eye of the North... most of them are blue, max damage/armor or energy, have an inscriptionslot and a very common skin.

I got a gold q8 Fiery Dragon Sword (inscribable) recently. Sold to the merchant, standing in Kama or LA for ages isn't my cup of tea

Other campaigns: max r8's or even r7's used to drop in the past (very rare), but i dont know if that is still the case...
In 6+ years i only had 2 good ones (a bow and a sword, both non-inscripable r8 15^50), but my last one was apx 4 years ago (maybe even longer)?

Well i never had a req8 or 7 max. I have been playing for 74months now...

Req8 max only Shields, Swords and Focus Items still drop.

Other req8 items such as staves, and req7 items such as swords used to drop, but don't drop any more. You can still find them for trade though.

Generally only lower level enemies drop lower req items. lvl 15-20 seems to be the sweet spot from what I've heard. This is part of why they are so rare, most players spend 90% of their time and 100% of their farming on enemies much over lvl 20.

I have had one or two max damage r7s. Still have one that dropped for me about two months before factions launched.
As for r8s, I have had so many I don't know where to begin. Most were sold becasue at the time I was farming, everyone wanted r7 so r8s were nothing special. Besides most r7 & r8s are at best purple not gold.
