For most of the time I couldn't play... visiting parents for a little over a week.
Didn't really get into any quests besides WW this year, but it is ok done all in the previous years. Although I only learned to do WW 8/0 like 3 days before it all ended, I still made 700k which is more than I have ever made in such short time ever before. No complaints from me

I went from r3 to r4 skillz, and had a lot of fun playing snowball ATs with my guild Otherwise, I didn't do too much that was festival related.

I didn't participate much this year. Mostly spent time with family from Dec 23 thru the 26th and then for the remainder sat around chatting with ppl in LA or watching some movies and a bit of anime. So not much profit for me this time around. For now I'm mainly looking forward to CNY and the Celestial Dragon! (Which I will probably have to buy as I never get any pets from fortunes, lol :P )

I didn't participate in Wintersday this year. Didn't felt compelled. After Farming all grog weekend, and Halloween..and then the pies..I just wasn't up to doing WW over and over and over. I spent it with my two in game friends talking about life and having fun.

It's a 6yr old game, I don't care for grinds.

I told myself, "yeah! Wintersday! I'm gonna make sooo much money!", first 5 days I made enough for obby armor, then sold half and gave the other half away to 3 of my guild wars buds. Then decided, "i guess ill get obby armor.." made enough for the ecto and some shards for it, then sold it too. I'm an idiot. lol. Hey, walked out with 1.3mil! Better than the 4k I had before the event.

Whoa... apparently Wintersday is NOT over yet, as many people have stated, there WILL be a redux. So bad...

Here's what it says:

27-Jan-12 Wintersday Returns! Due to technical issues with the Festival Hat distribution during the the Wintersday finale, the event will return for one week with all the usual activities. It begins at Noon PST on Friday, Janaury 29 and runs until 11:59 p.m. PST on Sunday, February 7. The finale takes place on February 7, giving you another chance to pick up a Wintersday Festival Hat! If you can't make it to the finale, there will be special collectors who will exchange Wintersday Festival Hats for Candy Cane Shards.:: GWW Note: Although not mentioned in the announcement, a "Triple key/lockpick drops AND double your luck points" weekend event was held during 29-31 January 2011 alongside Wintersday Returns.

Now, if this was anyone else saying this, I'd be more than skeptical, but its Ernie Ford, so it's at least a little noteworthy. However, I have no idea where he got it from, and maybe hes just speculating from previous redux events.

He might be correct on that, but seeing as he predicts Canthan New Year on the 10th of Feb i would say his predictions are probably off. As it(CNY) will fall either the weekend of the 21/22 or 28/29 of Jan with Anet already stating that they've made sure that the current Flux wont interfere with RBR and DA events.

umm im confused..isnt the hat givers still in the game? cant people just buy shards and get the hats that way?

It looks like these dates were calculated based on last year's list of events. We haven't scheduled a Wintersday Redux given that the hat distribution went as scheduled. Regarding Canthan New Year, we will release the dates when the webpage for the event goes live.

I got about 1000 points combined in party, drunk, and sweet items. And I bought some too, so my party title is 6000+ and my other two money titles are above 2500. I'm broke but it was good.

Yeah, I was about to say that sounds like a copy/paste job from the year that had the redux do to issues and led to the intro of the Wintersday Hat NPC. There were no issues as far as I was aware of this year.
