Lag Spikes?

Has anyone else been getting lag spikes still? I played GW a long time ago on a Pentium III computer, and never had any problems with connection or lag. It ran like a breeze.

Now, many years later, I have an amazing gaming computer that far exceeds GW expectations, so I'm confused as to why I have lag spikes. This has never happened before, and none of my other games have this problem.

Could be several things.

First, write down the IP of the server you're on (the red circle in the upper right corner). Log out, log in again and see if other servers also give you trouble (occasionally just a single server/set of servers develops trouble).

Second, check your antivirus software and similar, they may be slowing down the connection by scanning GW's packets.

Last, I too feel that the connection just isn't the same on my new computer running Win7 than it was on the old prehistoric box running WinXP...

I lost my connection due to a few last nite, so I'd imagine I'm having the same problem as well.

I lost my connection 3x times last night.. Wintersday is over, so I don't understand why..

Well, I've been experiencing regular lag spikes ever since they moved the European servers. No idea if yours could be the same case...

I experience sever lag occasionally, but it goes away after about a day.

I logged on for the first time today and just experienced my 2nd major lagspike and then a D/C. No idea why.. servers have always been a little iffy. Currently can't connect either -_______- /wrist

I'm back in, but I believe I'm experiencing the same thing OP.

I'll add that I'm USA, and fluctuating between 70 and 700 ping (lol) oh just topped that with a 5100 ping. Oh yeah, like a bawss.

Far too laggy to even play at the moment.. guess I'll try later tonight. :/

Just DC..........and can't reconnect...

Yup 4 of my guildies all got DC'd there

2 of us where in a Mission but locations are ( UK & Canada )

Another got booted from dungeon ( USA )
Another from JQ ( Europe )

Current pings are about 12k

I actually think a server crashed If that happend to you as well, glad to know I'm not alone as my whole ally D/C.

Poland here.
No lags for well over a month (well, had some in overpopulated town districts during WD, but that's normal), no DCs either. No problems with reconnecting after i logged out for some time. No problem with reconnecting back into a VQ after i accidentally kicked 'reset' on my machine.
Had no DC during the last hour.

e: oh, i was in Kamadan, American districts, for the last few hours. No problems.

Lots of lag and Dc's atm. Everyone i ask says servers with ip address 64.25.39.xx

Just got myself a 72000ms ping

Edit: Apparently there are no issues in EU districts

I haven't had any lag spikes since wintersday ended, but I've been disconnected three times in the past ten minutes (London).

Got the same on American districts. I switched to Europeans ones and the lag is gone.

For once time, it's not the Euro servers that are lagging ^^

7 code 40's here pretty bad night again

I'm in the UK was playing EU servers they where to bad swapped to American districts that was even worse moved to int dist they are working just fine no troubles what so ever. Got a funny feeling the servers have took quite a battering from wintersday

I got trouble too, up to 120k ping
Was attempting to help guildies with Gate of Madness and got kicked off midway and not offered the option to rejoin mission

Im still smashing a Lagspike and im only person using the internet at this current point with fibre optic broadband and this never usually happens

got dc'd was able to reconnect..after 3 times then it was so many lag spikes,rubberbanding and other crap. closed gw and took 2 closing to even be able to reconnect. i tried moving to another distric (usually play in asian) to euro russian and stilll laggy. >> to bad to play atm will try later..gg anet!
