People are going to tell you 30-40k tops for q9 earth 20/20.

Sure it might be true, but I have one also and rather than selling for that it sits on a hero.

Before the Ele update, I bought a staff just like that off a thread here for 5k b/o. I spent over a week trying to give away inherent matched 20/20 core-skin r13 Earth Staff and r10 Air Staff. I could not even find someone willing to take those for use on heroes and wound up merching them.

With the update out now (and knowing how you like to list things with b/o prices to start if you can,) you might try for more like 10-15kish b/o target, but be prepared to have a lower reserve if you want it gone and get no interest at that b/o.

As Venganza implied, there are people who still feel and argue the value of these is higher. I'm not at all sure it's anywhere near easy to get those higher prices anymore. Perhaps the market is basically flooded, and most everyone who wanted r9 core-skin inherent matched 20/20 Ele Staffs has them already???

Of course, this is not necessarily the case for the other, more popular and/or rarer skin variants of "Earth Staff."

Not a wanted item, I'd slap it on a hero or something if you want to keep it around.

It's true, you do not see many of those around at all. On the flip side, you do not see many buyers either. My experience with these is that they're a fairly uncommon drop. Even back in 2007 when everyone and their brother was chest-running Vabbi, relatively few of these showed up. Today, the areas they drop don't seem near as popular chest-running spots, and I hardly ever see them offered for sale anymore.

But I hardly ever see anyone asking to buy them either. In Dec. 2010, I stumbled upon a buyer asking for this specific axe in game. I offered him one of my spares (r9, max and gold) for 30k. He talked me down to 25k. After trading we got to chatting, and he told me he was collecting all r9 axe skins. This was one of the hard-to-find ones he was missing from his collection.

Given the rarity, I think 30k was a decent price I offered him. But I would not expect it easy to sell one of these then or now for even 5k.

There are actually quite a few skins like this ... remarkably uncommon to find available to buy, but usually very low demand when they do appear.
