Vaettir Farming Drops nerfed...?

Hey there folks. I have done a lot of Vaettir farming over the years and I recently started back up after the Ele re-work. At first the only thing I noticed was that it took 2 full rotations to kill them because of the health increase on HM mobs.

But after ~20 runs or so I checked my bags...

4 glacial stones
5 white items
1 gold item
1 purple item
1 mesmer tome
213g


....Did I miss something here? I used to run away with ~5 golds minimum per 60 mobs killed. Now I kill over 1000 mobs and see 1 gold MAX? Did they nerf the Vaettir drop rate of golds? Is there a better alternative now that Vaettir's don't drop anything anymore?

Just a bad string of luck. Keep farming and it'll even out, nothing was changed.

Rule #1 of farming; never check your bags when farming event items. It will only demoralise you when you realise how much time you have wasted collecting so little items.

Drops are highly variable, next time it may well be different.

Honestly I wish they would nerf vaettir, but that is just me.

Incidentally there are only a few mobs, so you cannot kill 1000... A "mob" is a plural and is comprised of XXX foes.

This is why it's best to only bother farming them during holiday periods, the festival drops are more reliably and help provide a lot more profit.

Sounds like variance, which is normal. The real 'nerf' to the farm was raising their hp without making much of a dent in their armor.

ive noticed a huge difference in drops between events and normal game play. i seem to get more golds dropped during events than on any regular day. not sure what the connection is or there even is one.

Sounds like bad luck to me. It happens.

I remember when I used to smash UW farming back pre-Factions, and sometimes I'd walk away with barely more money than it cost to go in.
