Title: Oldskl 4tac 12 ar spiked targe
hey bit of an oddball item here wondered if anyone knew its worth spiked targe q.4 tactics ar. 12 +27hp -5 (19) quite a nice object imo, thx in advance! |
Since your title says "Oldskl" those mods are fixed, cannot be changed with either shield handles or inscriptions. The functionality demand for 12ar/r4 Tactics shields would require either an inscribable shield or inherent mods very close to perfect ... and -5/19 is pretty useless in most cases. Some shield collectors like -5/20 for the "oldschool cool" shininess, but as I understand it the only current functional use of that mod is on some Para shields.
I would guess you'd be lucky to get 10-15k for this one, but shop it around and see. I don't think it's likely to happen, but it *might* start a bid war.
Sorry if that's bad news.

Being a caster sword only the +5e mod and the skin matters in terms of usefulness. Alas, i don't think that anybody will pay something special for it tbh....i like that skin, but as said, being it q13 or q4 doesn't matter as long as have +5e inerent and can be modded with ench pommel.

Skipping any for which I have nothing to contribute, here's what info/insight I can offer on the new ones ...
I don't know how to PC inherent shields with the normally-considered "good" mods very well. What I might be able to offer help/insight with on this one is the skin. Years ago, Shadow Shields seemed to sell pretty well, be pretty popular. These days, I don't think that's the case anymore. Apparently there is so much FoWSC going on that the market for these is quite flooded. Nice ones with dual near max mods are PCed at 5-10k if not merchfood, and from what I've seen that surprising-at-first PC may well be pretty accurate these days. I'm not saying yours is merchfood - it just couldn't possibly be! I just wanted to mention this advising against using sales of similar shields that are a year or more old - I don't think they're valid indicators anymore.
A couple months ago, there was a Trader's Outpost thread discussing the desirability/saleability of matched 20/19 staffs here. If you're trying to judge PC based on 20/20 prices, that might be worth reading.
My understanding of Cockatrice Staffs is that they're not considered (by the bulk of the staff-buying/collecting playerbase) as great a skin as some of the "more leet" Factions-only staff skins. They can be had from the same sources from which folks farm Celestial loot, so there's a pretty steady supply of the skin. I wouldn't think this one is merchfood, especially not after the recent Ele buff.
A few weeks ago jimbo was selling an r9 Earth 20/20 Cockatrice, and the only bid I recall him getting was the 65e starting bid/reserve he set (I think it was 65e.) No one started a bid war over it. Figure Air is generally probably not quite as popular as Earth, so maybe 50eish for a 20/20 Air r9. Figure 20/19 is maybe 10-15% (I'm REALLY guessing at that rate!) the PC of a 20/20, so maybe 5-8e for yours???
I had one of these to sell a while ago. I asked for PC help with it here, and folks guessed merchfood. I realize the market for 20/10 staffs has been pretty low lately, but I just couldn't see merching an inherent 20/10 candlestick! (Yes, I've a soft spot for the skin - sue me!) I ran into a buyer in game who bought it, along with an axe, for 40k total. They said 20k each. 20k was more than I'd been expecting for the axe and less than I'd been expecting for the staff. But the total worked out about right, so I didn't argue.
There may well be some validity to the merchfood PC, as I've not found anyone interested in the r11 20/10 candlestick I have, too, at all.
This was the axe I sold with the staff above. I was under the impression the skin was mostly unwanted, so I was surprised to find someone in game who told me they were specifically interested in these. I haven't noticed a lot of them show up for sale lately, so perhaps what demand there is for them is rather undersupplied? The one I sold with the Fire Staff, I would've considered myself lucky to have sold for even 5k before that guy offered to buy it with the staff for 20k each.
(Wow, I wonder if it was you. If so, that'd be pretty funny, but probably none of this is useful as valid PC data.)
I would guess 5-15k tops. I don't think they're particularly uncommon to see for sale lately or particularly popular. I'm not too sure, as it's not a skin I've ever had reason to focus in on.
Hmm, if you mean gavel of the nephelim
then I think this is one of those cases where there is not much supply nor is there much demand. I wanted one as an alternative giantslaying hammer. I got an inscribable one a couple years ago and recently upgraded it to an r10 15^50 inherent one last December when I saw it listed for 5k b/o on a thread here.
For r9 15^50 maybe a reasonable, fair buyout given the rarity (I think) would be 20kish. I think you might have to settle for more like 5-10k reserve, depending on interest.
These are tricky. IMO they're awesome skins, and in my experience they are far from what you'd call common. In terms of the overall market demand, though, most any command shield seems a tough sell these days.
My recent trades:
Last Nov. (2011) a friend of mine asked me to see about finding him one. I made my intentions to buy one known in argos' log and my buy thread here. After a week or two, someone contacted me in game offering a gold r9 command one. I offered him 15k for it (not having any better recent PC than my own best guess to go by) and he accepted without argument.
Just a couple days ago, Jan. 2012, I bought another gold r9 Command one that I saw listed on a thread here for 5k b/o.
So, if you're just looking to sell it now for whatever price you can get, I don't think you can expect it to be fast or easy to get more than 5-10k.
Now, granted I'm fond of these and don't mind them using up my storage space, but in the past I've run into pretty motivated buyers who have been looking and realized how unusual it is to find one for sale. In cases like that, I have sold gold r9 Command Scarabshells for up to 60k. In today's market, if I found such a situation and felt like parting with one of mine I would probably ask 40k. I doubt it's at all reasonable to expect offers like that when you're actively trying to sell one, though.
Another tricky one! There was recently a new Guru user (or at least new Guru account) who posted an r5 10-14 +5 sunqua for PC here. He got replies mostly that it was merchfood, but I know at least one person PMed him about it - a friend of mine who I was chatting with, and we both thought of another friend (Firefighter Fred) who might well really like to have it. That friend told me he sent the guy a PM, so I did not bother doing so or replying to his PC thread. I ran into the guy in game later, and we got to chatting. Apparently he got more than one PM about the sword, and he was checking around in game to see if someone might offer more than his highest private offer.
I told him my honest best guess at reasonable PC would be in the 10-20k area. From what he told me of his PM offers, it seems someone else puts a much higher value on these than I'd ever have guessed. I suggested he list it in a High End thread and helped him with a screenshot, as I doubted he'd have as much luck running into interested collectors of such things with Kama-spam. So far, the posted offers on his thread have been more like what I guessed. I have no idea who all PMed him higher offers after his PC thread, how legitimate those offers are, nor how likely they are to be good indicators of PC in general. So I'll just leave you the same advice I offered him: "I'm not sure you can really expect more than 5-20kish, but it's weird. There's a decent amount of activity from the collectors of weirdness these days. Put it out there and see what they think!"
Another tricky one. A friend of mine farms Cho's like a fiend, and I get to ID all his gold drops. Given the unid golds we've seen I'm pretty comfortable saying these are far less common a skin to drop than Canthan Crude Axes and Broadswords. And Cho's-farming does seem pretty meta these days. So, in my experience, these are fairly rare.
Granted, rarity alone doesn't determine PC. The only recent sale I know of to offer you a data point is last Nov. 2011 I found an r9 15^50 Canthan Cleaver listed on GWA (another fansite auction system with, what seems to be, a userbase that is less interested in and does not put as high a value on inherent gear in general than the userbase at Ventari's.) It was listed for 10k buyout. I got a wishlist alert of it's listing, and I bought it immediately. It's for my own collection, so I did not try to resell it at all. If I did, I can assure you I wouldn't part with it for 10k.
The friend who farms Cho's got an r10 +5 version a while back. He doesn't like trading and won't bother saving anything but the shiniest examples (in his opinion) of stuff to sell himself. I don't have much use for another +5 axe, but I like that one anyway. We agreed that I would keep it rather than "undersell" it, so I've been advertising it for 50k b/o. So far, I haven't run into any buyers even interested enough to haggle over it with me.
I've been watching one sit for 4k b/o on Van's sell thread for a while now without anyone buying it. Van usually seems to price things low compared to what PC he can find, too. That's about all I know on these.
I hope it helps!
Cheers & Good luck!
