No plagueborn weapons??

I've finished Factions on my necro, and was progressing a few of my other characters through as well.

My necro used to get heaps of plagueborn weapon drops, which I really like, but I've noticed that none of my other characters are getting any at all.

I have taken the first quest for WoC and was wondering if anyone knows whether this is the reason they stopped dropping for me, or whether I'm just really really really unlucky?

If it is WoC, then I ask why are the effects of that are account wide? Shouldn't it be character-specific like WiK?

Not wanting to QQ, just wanting to understand :L

They aren't exactly common. You might just have gotten lucky with your necro. If you want plagueborn weapons, I would recommend doing chestruns in areas with afflicted.

I just did a VQ of Zen Daijun, I got at least 7 gold plagueborn drops. You're probably just getting unlucky.

You can guarantee yourself some plagueborn weapons by running chests in HM outside kc in Bukdek byway. It's a 40s run with 100% chance of plagueborn drops (when not tomes) and only when the chest appears. If you've done WoC quests though you may have done yourself out of that possibility (dunno if that's an account-wide effect). There is also a plagueborn chest along the pongmei valley chestrun near the afflicted groups toward the tunnel. Dunno if those too are affected by completion it WoC quests. Oh and I think in shenzun (sp?) tunnel there is another plague chest. Otherwise I would imagine through normal gameplay the large mobs of plagueborns in zen daijun, vizhuna square and the "bound" boss missions (icr the name of that one) should net you some plagueborn drops. Which chest would that be? I've only ever got plagueborn from drops.

My plagueborn weapons have dried up, but on the flip side I'm consistently getting really high end / valuable runes and insignia on plagueborn armor drops lately.

Come to think of it, I have been getting the same sort of drops Kada. Maybe there's a link somewhere?

If I recall, plagueborn stuff mostly drops in Kaineng City (of which, Kaineng Center is only a part). Once you get into Luxon or Kurzick territory, you're into other 'brands'.

As you exit kc into Bukdek byway go upstairs stay left and follow till the bridge you'll see plague mobs and scan for a chest if you don't see it from the bridge then its not there. Resins and try again. Spawn rate is 70% give or take. Gl and hth

Not account wide. I have all WoC quests done on my dervish and that particular chest along with all the afflicted swarming it is still there when doing the run on my sin.

Personally, from afflicted, I've never got any plagueborn weapons safe from merch stuff, and few of those as well, while I've always had plenty of good runes from them.
So I don't find what's happening to you weird at all, probably getting one or other more is just a matter of case and luck.
