I was thinking, wouldn't it be a nice expansion if we somehow could make a character and travel back to Cantha pre Shiro? I so want to see a city full of life, a Jade Sea with an actual sea and most of all, a forest blooming with life. I don't know how they would manage to do this lore-wise but I so would have loved it. Any thoughts?

I don't think anything that big will be made for GuildWars 1. The game is at it's end of the life cycle. It would be nice to see an expansion for GuildWars 2 in Cantha like this.

Was thinking of suggesting it on GW2forum but I can't see how this can link to the fact that GW2 is all about the dragons and new born races and technology that didn't exist in GW1 and therefor not in pre GW1 either

Well of course it would be damn cool.
But it would be like, what, designing new areas from scratch? They already said they wouldn't be doing anything like that anymore on this game (sigh) so it's not gonna happen. Also, I think they would have designed it right from the start if they wanted to, like they did with pre searing.
Honestly, I'd be happy even with a single cinematic showing pre jade wind cantha.

Best trailer of any part of GW imo and it does shows short shots of pre jade wind sea and forrest.

Personally I'm really looking forward to seeing the city as well, I realize a lot of people hate it for beeing confusing and stuff but me, I really like it. I can't recall any other game trying to create a similar concept to that.

As for the OP's idea? I like the idea of seeing Cantha prior to Shiro. Probably a bit too much for the current game to handle ( all that water, and all those trees? A waking nightmare for artists and designers!). But as we all know, Life begins to return to the Jade sea and The Forest. Fast forward a few centuries and I'm sure we will see quite a different Cantha then the one we experienced in this game.

I am definitely hoping to see Cantha at some point in GW2... I'll be sad to never see it again. Although your idea is cool too, I think our chances for a GW2 expansion/campaign is better.
Of.c. for that we'll have to wait quite a while... first they need to get GW2 out (where Elona and Cantha will NOT be) then wait for them to make an expansion/campaign... Of.c. the wait from GW2 release and till they make an expansion/campaign should be filled with fun, entertainment and adventures in GW2 with the dragons.
