Hey ppl after few days playing GW i can say that i like it so far...

Only thing that going on my nerves is linearity....when i struck in some rock,hill etc...graphic is rly good cant complain about that as well for the sound... i like when i can go around w/o any obstacle on my way...

I started in first campaign and to me seems like i am playing some single player campaign as i dont see many ppl around...where are all GW players?

Also i noticed decent lag in last 2 days... my connection is good but i am experiencing some lag issue.. playing other online games and i dont have any lag...is it only me or some server lag??

A) Unfortunately, GW1 did indeed neglect the third dimension. You'll often see cases where you can't go up a slope you could easily go up to on another map - where it's not an intended border. My advice? Just don't think about it.

B) Guild wars is a quite old game and the player base is rather small. Also, since most players are old time players, they rarely go to the early game areas and are found more often in the endgame areas. Also, try the US districts. They are the most populous these days.

C) Lag, I can't help you with. It happens at times.

Joining a guild is the best way to find other people to play with. Lots of veterans play with heroes now. Groups are frequently formed for the Zaishen dailies.

I have the feeling you started with Prophecies as that campaign's terrein sometimes gives me the creeps too.

The game is almost 7 years old. You wont find many players in certain parts of the game (they already done it, play with heroes/henchmeny and/or guildies). I also hope you are aware that in GW you get your onw instance in explorable area's, so you never find other players there than the ones from your team.

Probably server... most of the time is great (playing for 6+ years now), but sadly i also have days where i get hit by a lagstick (my last 2 days were fine btw).

You start meeting larger numbers of players when you get to the mid game areas, there are cities that act as trading centers basically its the crossover Port cities where all three games meet up.

Also agree about American districts, as the player base shrank many moved to the American districts.
The sparsely populated districts are where players who want to be alone and get on with solo play tend to operate from.

Wait till a festival arrives, next weekend should be Canthan New year you will be buried under players.
Note canthan new year is a factions festival so you must have a character in the factions start island to take part.
Progress far enough in your current game to cross over to that map or start another character in factions to take part.

It's a high enough level to do the quests, but you'll need to get the character to Lions Arch, do the quest to get to Kaineng Centre (Factions), then head south to the Marketplace where you can get a ship to Seitung Harbour, and then fight through a few mantids in Saoshang Trail to reach Shing Jea Monestary.

Your probably better off starting a new character in the Factions game as once you do the first mission you are in the right town for the festival.
That will "hopefully" net you a nice minipet "celestal Dragon" as well as show you what the festival scene is like.

Forcing the pace to get your present character to Lions Arch and then to cantha is possible but unnecessary.
Anyway its your decision and there are plenty more festivals to enjoy if you miss this one.

I have noticed that some quests giving some skills to unlock...but i saw that there are so much quests in every outpost.... i have never been good in doing quests... i like good old grind and hack 'n slash... i remember good old days on Wotlk when i grinded from lvl 70 to lvl 80.... ....anyway i would like only to follow story quests..but can i unlock these skills on some dif way or i need to do them....

I think only prophecies has quests that offers skills as a reward for doing a quest... the other way to get skills is to buy them or use tomes to learn them (you only can use tomes when the skill is already unlocked on your account).

You can grind ofcourse, but doing quests in between usually saves you money (if it means you dont have to buy a skill) and gives more xp (so you level faster).

If you don't want to do quests to learn skills, talk to skill trainers. That link points to an index of skill trainer lists sorted by campaign. Note that in addition to a skill point, skills increase in cost up to a maximum of 1 platinum each. It is often faster to do quests that reward skills than acquiring gold to buy them.
