Hi all,
Currently im playing swtor. Im a big pvp guy and sorry to say that swtor pvp isnt all that i hoped for. I recently was watching some guild wars on youtube and it peaked my interest. I guess my question is should i buy it? Is it still happening? Is the pvp as good as everyone says? Any imput would be helpful.
Thanks ahead of time

The Real Avalon
The PvP was great, but it's not going to happen for you. Your best bet is just finding an altogether new game.

Great game.. Pvp is dead. Buy the trilogy and Eotn. It's like $30 on amazon or something. Super fun.

Are the american servers dead as well?
GhostKairi
Aside from German servers, American is pretty much the only servers with people on them. You are free to switch between them though so its not really a problem. A lot of people will tell you that some districts have better connection, there talking out their ass, lol. Pvp was the greatest thing in this game, ever, but it died a long time ago, at least, the best parts of it, its still around in some form though.
Swingline
Everyone hangs out in American servers. It should be noted that most outposts are empty unless its the daily quest. The most populated cities are Kamadan and Lions Arch with Kaineng Center trailing behind due to recent content added.
PvP is not entirely dead. The more correct answer is Organized PvP is dead. The PvP formats that are random join are alive. These include Random Arena, Jade Quarry and Fort Aspenwood. Alliance battles are also alive during double faction weekends.

Cool thanks guess ill get and get some practice in before gw2 hell its only like 20-30 bucks

If you want to focus on PvP, pick all games (30ish bucks) and, if you can and enjoy the game, buy the unlock packs: those will give you full skill and weapon mods selection using PvP chars, that you'd have to unlock with regular pve playing.
Thus said, play PvE to get the hang of how game works first, and join a guild, PvP focused with teaching if this is what you want.
PvP is dead in organized formats, expecially outside guild teams, that's it.

Of the two remaining organized team formats, Heroes' Ascent is effectively unplayable. Contrary to popular perception, though, GvG is definitely not "dead." Unfortunately, the learning curve is fairly high - you'll need to put quite some effort into it if you're interested.
Fair warning, though - GW2's PvP, by all accounts, has approximately nothing to do with GW's PvP.

Thanks for the ideas lads and lasses

OP, I'm more a pve player but played Jade Quarry a lot to help with some titles. I seen another post about how dead AB is. I think it's the rewards that are making it not worth doing or something. I've only played a few AB matches but loved every one. As with many things in this game, getting into an active guild is key!
