need help charming elderly wolf!!
kaikai601
Hi i'm having a lot of trouble trying to charm the pet Elderly wolf in Spearhead peaks...that is the only place that has one, the wolf starts at lvl 15 evolved. The problem is that whenever i go near it, the stone summit boss ALWAYS charms it before I even go close, he charms it in like 1/2 a second...it almost seems impossible. Anyway I was wondering if there's an easier way to capturing it? since charming the wolf is the first thing the boss will do i don't know how i can counter that, thanks!

anyone have any ideas?

nope no idea off the top of my head. I'd have to examine the place better. It's been a while since I did a lot with my Ranger - I don't suppost you can kill the Stone Summit but not kill the pet, run away and come back later to charm it?

Can you get to the boss and interrupt him before he gets off "Charm Animal" ?
As in, try not to aggro anything, and position that boss right outside ur aggro bubble, then aggro him and use Distracting shot (or any fast interrupt skill) immedietly.
Worth a try?

Shouldn't that be Elder Wolf?
Sarcasm aside, however, I just charmed one on my first attempt, but then there were 3 Elder Wolves, so I can't say it was difficult. The boss never used Charm Animal, either. I left with a full party of Hench from Citadel, went East to the boss, and used my Longbow to pull the group to my henches. I left them to serve as a distraction while I ran through with Storm Chaser, then hit Charm once I was out of all enemy aggro, and immediately mapped out.
I guess you can try watching the boss's patrol pattern and only aggro once the Elder Wolf wanders away, or rezone the map for a better respawn. I have no idea whether 3 Elder Wolves is normal. Also, I believe the henchies will attack the wolf, so leaving them to tangle wth the boss may be beneficial. Good luck!

Brilliant!
I have tried this a couple times with full hench party, and they always got a little too "enthusiastic" with the wolf...

It's not a boss that actually charms the creatures but the stone summit rangers in the area. If i remember correctly, if you follow the right path, the first stone summit you see will be a small group of rangers and carvers. Kill them and hold down alt, at the bottom of the hill there are a bunch of rangers and other crap, try to run/sneak past them to the elder wolf that is wandering nearby.
If you are too late to capture it or they get agrod and capture it first then there are more wolves, don't worry too much about dieing, put on whirling defense and just rush to the wolf, charm it ASAP and then let yourself die.
T_T i don't have a map so this might be extremely confusing, but just keep in mind, whenever you see a wolf, just charge straight to it.
Helps if you go in a pair with another ranger that can interrupt the stone summit's charm animal.

Thul the Bull (has Ferocious Strike) has a lvl 15 Elder Wolf near him. I'm pretty sure I've only ever seen one, not three like another poster mentioned.

You may find this post helpful. You basically take henchies, attack somebody, and then run off to get your wolf. PS: If it doesn't work, you just try again.
