Problem with assassin

Hello

I am new to this game. After trying few classes for the first couple of levels, I decided to play assassin. Since I don't know much about this game, I decided to follow this build: http://pvx.wikia.com/wiki/Build:A/N_Perma_Solo as it seemed good. I managed to get founds for all equipment required, completed my skill bar and thats where problems started. Im currently at 7th mission of factions campaign and my character seems to be completely useless. When I get henchmen to progress through missions, they do far more than I do. My damage output is negligible - when I tried to "solo" few mobs it took me like 15 times more than with standard group of henchmen. I can't imagine killing harder bosses or even mobs solo. Maybe I am doing something wrong ? Any suggestions please ?

Hi,

Shadow Form builds are designed for solo farming, which is different from doing missions/vanquishes/dungeons. It's useful if you want to get more valuable drops from specific foes, but it doesn't fit in a "regular" group.
This game is not designed to be played solo but with a full party of 4/6/8(/12).

A more generic build would be something like this : http://www.gwpvx.com/Build:A/any_PvE_Dagger_Spammer or anything able to deal sustained damage in any situation.
(by the way, don't use the "pvx.wikia", it's mostly outdated)

There is a nice guide in this section about playing sin : http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/b...t10288967.html

I agree with Lyv,

Solo builds are designed for farming. Farming means you kill a mob solo to get more drops out of it (if you play e.g. in a group of 8 henchman, you get 1/8th of the drops, the rest goes to your henchman or in other words, won't drop. If you go out solo you get all the drops. So when just going for the goody's it's better to go out solo as long as it doesn't take 8 times the time to kill a mob then when out there with henchies).

This method is mostly used however by experienced people who have played the game and are farming for end game rewards like armor or titles. It is harder nd you playing the game in a way it isn't designed.

Best thing to do as an assasin is to go out with henchman (or heroes, when they are runed and skilled up properly) and pick one of the team roles for yourself. In a team with real players a build where you can tank is welcome. When playing with heroes/henchman it would be better to pick a build that deals lots of damage.

I would strongly advise you not to use pvx.wikia.com. See the notice on the front page.
