Did everyone dump their crafting materials last week?
Ishmel
I've been trying to keep tabs on the crafting material and rune prices to make a better profit (gods know i need the gold). In one week the price of feathers and dust have gone down 50% and the price of energy and health runes have dropped noticably too.
I blame last weeks Nicholas location for the drop in feather prices (i think alot of people got reminded there's a feather farm nearby), but what on earth triggered the price dump on piles of dust?
From previous events it's been my experience that the price on runes goes up, with people returning from their hiatus from the game, but this CNY weekend it seems everyone and their mother logged on and farmed the living daylights out of everything?
Does anyone have a viable theory for the price drop?

People thougt they could farm the CNY quest Fire in the sky (?) that requires 10 dust to complete, therefore they got bought in heaps and tons.
This is what i've heard, and yes i've noticed feather stacks going from 10k to 1e e.a aswell
EDIT: GW_Poster, you have a point haven't thougt about it like that

i was thinking the opposite -- lots of people who normally speed clear were sitting on rings or doing something afk, hence not using cons and therefore a higher inventory of cons than normal. So high supply (and low demand) = lower prices. Since it takes feathers and dust to make cons and less people were using cons, thereby requiring less dust/feathers, they were traded less so the traders had higher supply equaling lower prices.
I had a gym teacher for economics so forgive me if I'm wrong. Plus, I tend to buy airline stocks, so go figure.
EDIT: and about the rune prices, probably lower for the same afk reasoning...less people actually playing or creating new characters/upgrading heros for playing so higher inventory (supply) and lower demand of runes = lower prices.

I agree to gw-poster, but would like to add a lot of people only attend to the festivals, and so might have used it to clear their chest of rubish. prolly a mixture of all things

yes, with the influx of 'holiday' players...the prices for materials and such tends to change--sometimes for the good, sometimes for the bad.
Give it a week...it will be back to 'normal' again.

I was hoping for ectos to go down quite a bit because of people selling them for 9 rings money. Didn't really make that big of an impact...

Could be alot of people were selling all there materials to get that little bit of gold needed to buy another stack of tokens.

Most events certain things either skyrocket or plummet .
UW/Fow gets less players than normal which then reduces the amount of consets needed ( means less feathers needed ).
Players on 9 rings will start to sell their ectos as they need more cash for tickets - this then drops ecto prices.
And feather prices usually fluxes between 8 and 10k as a normal rule and often most events dont even affect the prices.
Tho tbh im a bit mystified over ectos - i swear at start of last week they were around 10k npc.
Also if feathers and dust went down by 50% i must have missed it - anyone else seen 5k a stack of feathers ( unsure about dust ) as they were around 10k and 50% of that means 5k price drop .

People sold stuff to get cash for the lucky rings.
They also got some red dyes from quests.
There's not much about it.

Yeah, so was I. Price dropped a bit but no great shakes except for 1 guy in GTOB who was spamming WTS ecto 6350g each (15e / 100k) I queried it with him and when he insisted I bit his arm off and bought all he had.
I think he must have been drunk or high and thought he was selling zkeys or something.
