Raid on Kaineng Centre HM
Hara Makoto
(I did search prior to posting this, but couldn't find anything related)
So having gotten through the rest of Winds of Change HM with relatively few problems, I appear to have hit a brick wall with this one. Has anybody else been able to complete this one yet? And if so, what strategy / cons / heroes did you use?
Thanks in advance for any help given.

I just used the heroes I used for the rest of WoC... me as ss necro, heroes are UA, ST, E/Mo prot, SoS-restore, panic mesmer, illusions mesmer, last slot MM or RoJ.
I think I might have dropped my mm for a roj though (the necromancers have veratas aura, if I'm not mistaken). I failed first time, because I put about half of the guards on one staircase, and the rest on the other... this way mobs tend to clutch up too much and both sides will reach the center at about the same time. On my second go I put all the guards on top of the right-side staircase. I dealt with the ones on the left, then cleaned up on the right side; after each wave I killed on the right side I regrouped the guards as they tend to not stick together.
Also, as you're in a tight spot, kill foes with aoe quickly (as usual pain inverter does that easily). Technobabble never left my bar in WoC HM (ever since Rescue at Cho's HM) and also here it's convenient as the enemy casters ball on the stairs all the time.
I never used cons through WoC... once I fail a quest, I take it personal ><
I did pop mysterious summoning stone from time to time. In this quest there is no need to worry for extra unwanted aggro that the summon might collect, so no reason why not to pop a summon.
Well, anyway, that's how I did it... hope it helps a bit ^^
EDIT: Right side for me is the harbor side; left side the side of Bukdek Byway (so my point of view is with my back to the gate you are defending). Just saying, as it might have been unclear

I just used basic overpowered heroes (mesmers, rits, mm, some more heals and aoe as you have room) and hung out near the palace gate. I made all the guards follow me. Most of the time I could fight on the higher ground near the gate, 'cause there's usually only one wave coming at a time. (Once both gates are open, it seems like the group from the docks usually comes a little bit earlier.)
The I got lazy and Reisen came and killed almost everybody (pain inverter killed him for it, but it still hurt). But then there were only a few things left to kill, and you res right at the gate, so it was fine.
For Shing Jea, when you get there, I did basically the same thing. Stayed near Mhenlo, made all the guards follow me. Between waves I put a trap (the firebomb trap) at the top of the right staircase, which definitely helped.

Here are the heroes I ran:
ST Rit
OAOjAyhDJPYTrX48x1SgmOzkLA
SoGM Rit
OAmjAykqJOfzN3ZLan5c2OzaMA
SoS Healer
OghjwMhsIPXzyZ1kZKNncDzqHA
Illusion Mes
OQhkAoB8AGK0LwKACYeWGAJwy3FD
Panic Mes
OQBDAqwDO0gcQGY6Z6GCFhlP
AotL MM
OAhkUwGYoIqkcQVAagC4Wo3EGzFD
PoD Healer
OAhjYgHaIPSzJ3wccaHsEP1qKA
I basically had all the guards follow me and just stayed near the palace gate. As long as I poop out all the spirits before each fight, everything was pretty much easy. No cons were used except for a summoning stone which I had a lot of.

E N I G M A's build seems to be making things a little more doable in HM for me as well. I'm not getting my ass handed to me in seconds anymore, now it takes minutes. Fortunately I can usually kill most things within those minutes

Well it made life easier for MOST quests. Unfortunately I have hit a wall with Minister Cho's Estate. 10 tries and wipes on the second mod. A few were because they were too close together and Zei Ri aggros them.
Anyone have any suggestions? I'm VERY close to just quitting and emailing ANet telling them where they can stick this quest. (PS: Don't give me the bullshit response of "its HM, it's supposed to be hard". I'm just asking for any other suggestions)

Well I used a conset for it (the only one I had to do so for), but I used SoS, with my heroes playing:
AotL Necro: OANDUshvSyBVBoBbhKg3V1DBEA
SoGM Rit: OAmjAykqJOfzN3ZLan5c2OzaMA
ST Rit: OAOjAyhDJPYTrX48x1SgmOzkLA
Using those builds I completed it in 38 minutes.
