Like many others, the anticipation of GW2 has brought me back into GW, for me after a 3 year absence and I'm now relearning forgotten actions and enjoying feeling new in a familiar setting.

Sadly the return didn't come without its losses, my partner who I gamed with throughout my GW life has had their account hacked and we have not managed to even log back into it, the whole account appears to have gone.

Not really much more to say, just thought I'd pop my head back in here.

If the hack is fairly recent (I believe since October?), ANet has begun doing limited account restoration - I'm sure another poster can give more details. But if your friend still has their game keys, CC information associated with the account, etc. - any information that can prove it is their account, ANet can let them back into the account. So be sure and contact support.

If it has been hacked, pursue it via a support ticket. My brothers account was hacked and then perma-banned because a goldseller was using it for RMT, and he got it back without all that much fuss. Yeah, he had nothing on it, but at least his HoM progression and some of the stuff he had dedicated were still there.

Sadly we discovered something was wrong through not being able to gain access (ie the passwords had been changed) about a year or so ago, I found this out because I tried to log onto his account when I was having a quick check-in on both our accounts. I think we then went through all the standard ticketing procedures back then but between us and support we were unable to resolve it.

Its not a problem for GW2, he's really not bothered about the HoM, but it does mean I'm now playing the few remaining areas that we had left to do alone. No biggy, just feels weird after being so used to our teamplay.
