Eeasier traveling between campaign with hero
Xiner
I'm sure this suggestion has been given before, but I couldn't find it anymore. Well, not by the suggestion index thread anyway.
The overall suggestion is pretty simple. Just making traveling between campains easier with a party full of heroes.
- Just remove the hero cap when traveling to different campains. I find it quite annoying when I travel from Cantha to Kamadan with having a full hero party and then having half of them kicked. So might it be an idea to have heroes kept in your party.
If you might walk outside in a 4-man outpost just let the heroes be removed so it wont affect gameplay at all.
- If the above idea isn't alright it might be an idea to have something like "hero-builds". Same like a skill-build or equipment-build. Instead of adding every single hero seperately you could just load a "hero-build". In this hero build your hero setup will be saved.
Just add the heroes you want to your party and save them as a build. I don't know how I can explain this in a better way but I hope you understand.
- Another idea would be to be able to travel to a certain outpost when campain traveling. So when you click on Kamadan, Jewel of Istan you get a submenu with for example Koura/Istan/Realm of Torment/Vabbi/Desolation. If you click one of those you get the outposts belonging to the right area. Even though this may look a little messed up.
I know we have a place called Embark Beach for this but whenever I need to campain travel I always seem to spawn at the wrong side of this outpost. xD
Anyways these suggestions wont affect the gameplay at all. It's just to make some things less annoying. I often avoid campain traveling because of this. By the way, this has nothing to do with being lazy or getting lazy. It's just annoying.
What do you think of this or do you have a better variant on this? Don't blame me if this thing is really stupid or something like that, I don't know...
Also apologize if this has already been given before. My eyes probably deserted me for a while. I really couldn't find this suggestion anymore.

Yes, it has been suggested before.
And, yes, going from campaign to campaign via Embark Beach isn't a very good alternative. There have also been several ideas floated around about how to make that place more user friendly. Personally, I'd like to see all of the [_______ Travel] NPCs moved to the ship where they'd all be easy to find.
The "heros-builds" idea has been suggested as well on one or two occasions.

I won't mind if we got a few masters of the winds in there casting at people at least, to move faster between regional areas.

First suggestion would seem more feasible and a lot better of a change. Adding it to human parties would be great to, in fact having a completely uncapped team size in-town would be nice for a lot of things. Merely put a "------MUST BE ABOVE THIS LINE TO LEAVE TOWN------" on the party bar or something. If one of the top (4-8) players leaves town then the top (4-8) players all disappear from the party list and the next set moves up.

Best suggestion so far. Embarks only downside is how far everything is spread. As far as travel to Kamadan is concerned, its a four person area, why would you need to have more then that? Embark was made for just the scenario yo are talking about. Its just slow travel from NPC to NPC. but it does Exactly what you are asking for.

the only chapter I have problems with is nightfall....if I want to get anywhere in factions--kaineng is already 8 players...if I want to get anywhere in prophecies--I first jump to kaineng and then thru the asuran gate to boreal station--then anywhere in prophecies....this doesnt work for nightfall ...so its the ONLY time I use embark beach for traveling with a full pack--heck nightfall is just a pain to travel around (realm of torment is always 2 jumps either in or OUT).
make consulate docks a city like la or kaineng and I would be happy as a clam!

Hero party templates would be cool, though. Yeah, it's been suggested before. For good reason -- it would be very helpful.

/not signed to remove the hero cap and for "hero builds" because I have way too many separate hero builds per hero depending on the situation and I'd essentially have to create stacks of extra "hero builds" to use all those alternatives instead of simply switching 1 hero.
/signed to be able to map to a specific outpost on the continent you want to travel to instead of just the hub cities of Kamadan, Lion's Arch and Kaineng provided you had already unlocked it previously.

With the hero builds the skill bars will be saved as well. So if you load for example hero melee support your rit will have splinter weapon. And if you load caster support your rit won't have it etc. Very fast and easy switching. Its a bit like equipment builds/templates.

+33% movement speed environmental effect
&
hero builds
thats good enough
also, new players will be like: huh, i just had 1 team full of heroes in kamadan, and when i left, most disappeared
with that "hero cap" idea
thats the only reason i'd say "no" to that

But hero builds would be enough at all.

Someone hit the nail on the head.
You could say on the 3 campaigns and eotn the major ports/outposts are -
Lions Arch , Kaineng , Eye of the north and Kamadan.
First glance you wouldnt think but kamadan out of the 4 is the odd 1 out.
Lions arch is the biggest major town in prophs - ascalon city usually is lower lvl players and most of them usually try to reach LA asap.Kaineng / eotn are main areas but kamadan is situated on "noob island" as many of us call it as its the starter island.
I did once ask quite a few players how comes kamamdan is main instead of sunspear sanctuary and the reply was - when cross travelling you arrive at noob island so its become main outpost.
In other words - kamadan was a bit of an error on anets side.If i wanted to reach ascalon or shing jea island i would need to travel a bit to reach there.
Besides losing 4 heros so your team becomes 4 man party isnt a big thing - if it was then why not go to kamadan heroless then add heros when there .. Easy :P

Having heroes removed and having to add them again never bothered me... it takes what? a few seconds to add them again. So don't really see it as that much of a problem lol
What I would like was making Embark more useful: speed boosts/better placed npc and add all of the outposts to the travel npc instead of just the mission ones. That would solve a lot of the problems with Embark.
