I got bored spamming spirits

When I started my Ritualist, it was to assist me in getting 30/50 HoM. Faceroll through HM was fun at first, but the overall gameplay of spirit spam has become a real bore, to the point where I've sidelined my Ritualist. I really want to pick it up again, though, but preferably in an unorthodox playstyle.

I remember seeing builds in pvp arenas utilizing Spirit's Strength, which I thought was a good place to start.

This is what I've been working on, so far it has been a lot of fun. It's not the greatest of builds, I know, but it's different from the Ritualist status quo. It's basically the Ranger barrage bar with a Ritualist twist (lol). It does decent spike damage to balled up groups, and bringing a hero with splinter almost guarantees 100% uptime for Spirit's Strength bonus, they like to spam it on you. Single target dps is pretty low, though.

Grab a 15^50 zealous flatbow, spam volley, have a good time!

Do you guys have any other similar Ritualist builds to curb the spirit spam boredom? I would love to see it and try them out!

Sometimes in vq's, i set all my heroes to "Agressive" and play an ST spammer.

makes party take little to no damage, and they still kill stuff pretty quick..

ST-3 spirits>3 wards >res =GG

I solved this problem with heroes' builds. Whenever I got bored, I just completely changed heroes and their builds.
The process of utilizing and improving the builds was what entertained me. Running something from meta gameplay ruins all fun.

Splinter Weapon to fuel SS is a horrible idea, especially at such a low attribute. As soon as SW runs out (3 hits) SS does no extra damage. Even if that wasn't a problem, SW at such a low spec is near worthless in overall damage and takes a ton of time to cast that you could be using to hit things. You should be using Brutal Weapon or Weapon of Aggression, which will fix both of these problems and massively improve your overall damage.

Your attribute allocation is just silly. Put your sup and headgear towards Spawning Power, you will save tons of attribute points and have all around better stats for free.

Slot EBSoH and Triple Shot. With Brutal + SS + FW ontop of EBSoH you are looking at nearly 250 damage with Triple Shot.

You might also want to try either dropping Volley for preparation (Rapid Fire/Ignite) or going paragon for spears. I bet that faster attack speed will in most cases outweigh Volley unless you really tanknspank so that you are always hitting multiple enemies. Ignite Arrows will add a cool +90 AoE damage to that triple shot.

Myself, I sometimes run SS sin builds. Why? I dunno, but its funny seeing all of that damage on a single chain.

Assassins Promise ritualist with explosive growth and boon of creation works allright. It is the quickest way of playing a ritualist with heroes but it's still not very much fun since an AP calling nec / ele / mes is just so much better then you.

This is why I constantly tell people not to roll rits lol, it's only fun for the first 15 titles. And especially with SoS beeing nerfed again it's even more of a bore. People see rits as beeing top tier but while they may be top tier in getting things done they're lacking in battlefield control and speed.

Really I whipped this up late last night on a whim. It made me laugh and it performed well enough on a vanquish that I wanted to post it here for anyone else who may be bored of spirits. I only just now noticed splinter weapon is used entirely on a successful volley, oops! so I see what you mean there. But it hasn't seemed like a problem reapplying so far.

And yeah, I'm sure stat allocation* is bad. These are the same runes I ran with SoS. I hadn't put much thought into it. But, I have switched stat allocation* some, to marks12, chan6+1+3, spawn11+1 (12-10-12). It feels better now with splinter hitting for ~35, but what do I know? I always used PvX meta builds without putting much thought into anything else, so this is new territory for me.

I definitely want to explore more builds around Spirit's Strength though. It has reinvigorated interest in my Rt, so thanks for the recommendations.

So I just realized I'm using an Expertise skill with no points allocated.. I'm embarrassed LOL

Anyway, I still really like bringing splinter weapon. Weapon of Aggression starts to give me some energy management issues even with spirit siphon, and I feel like I'm doing more damage with splinter since enemies are balling up relatively well.

Definitely needs a lot more work though, haha.. but it's fun, even if my heroes are doing most of the work for me

Playing splinter barrage you need at least 14 points for maximum amount of attacks. So 10+1+3 for instance. Gives it an extra 150 damage per cast over 13 points.
