Urgoz build/ideas
Fire The Nutter
I was wondering if you kindly guys and gals could help with some builds/team for doing Urgoz Warren?
Its just in NM but my very small guild are trying to do it, ideally with our primary characters + heroes.
We are a very casual guild so i dont want to go demanding anyone gets specific builds or anything so ideally id like to stick with the builds they normally run so im hoping the hero slots can fill in the cracks.
Now we tried it last night, my first time in Urgoz, and got all the way to Urgoz (1-2 near wipes but our rebirth monk saved the day) and then attempted EoE killing him and got pummelled (well actually we gave up after so many attempts at killing him).
1st off - some information. The wiki pages state that the Greater Serpents do not heal Urgoz yet everytime we damaged him some (EoE waiting in the wings to kill him) he just regained the health very quickly. Anyone know about this? Possibly since the teleport/necrotic traversal update??
Onto the team, humans are
Ele - Spirit Spam (SoS)
Ele - SF
R - Barrage (EoE), By Urals (emergency res)
R - Barrage + Interrupts
Mo - RoJ (echo'd) + Rebirth
N - SS
Heroes we were running
Mes - Inept (res)
Mes - Panic (res)
Nec/Rit - Curses+Splinter (for barragers) Pain of disenchant
Mo - UA Monk
Nec - MM + Prots
Rit - ST Prot
Bars are all fairly standard bars you'd find on here/PvX. As i say we did fine for the most part it was just Urgoz that had us stumped and with the heroes not too useful @ Urgoz and the spirit spam the same (even with summon spirits) we were pretty lacking. The two R bars are probably the most flexible, could run just about any build really on those.
I have searched on here for info but its mostly snorts of derision as to how easy it all is, running services or weapon sales from what ive found. Similarly on YouTube although one thing i noticed on there was people killing him with degen (rotting flesh for disease etc), given thats a possible Ranger role i had thought about changing 1 barrage for poison/fire or maybe BHA+Epedemic with a poison side dish?
Any ideas gratefully recieved though, we'd love to beat Urgoz!

my roommate and I did urgoz right after the 7-hero update so i might have a few tips.
we ran 2 human players and 10 heroes (obviously) hero builds don't really matter (current meta builds work fine) and the path is described nicely on wiki and you said you had no problems until you hit Urgoz anyways so i'll just tell you how we managed that.
we ran both player builds with ebon vanguard sniper support, we had "finish him" on one player and an interrupt on other player.
if you look carefully at the bars the serpents at urgoz have healing touch (to heal self) and jamei's gaze (to heal eachother/urgoz) so what we did was both run in, popped EVSS and hoped for the big hit :P (i know sounds kinda stupid but it works) once we got a big hit off on serpent we tried to interrupt heals and followed up with FH.
this might take a while to get lucky with the big hits from EVSS but i assure you once you get one serpent down, the other one will go down really easily. after that just keep running in and spamming EVSS on urgoz until he dies. no EOE was used in our run (we did bring it but all our heroes died at urgoz :P)
bear in mind that urgoz has almost no chances of killing human players as long as all abilities used have casting time less than 2 seconds. more than that often results in bodyblocking and dying to explosive flower thingies

Eles spamming spirits is a waste, put SoS on the EoE ranger if you have to have a non-rit spirit spammer, give him summon spirits and he can move EoE into position better at urgoz, cast out of range summon within range.
If you want to add a dazer, use a fevered dreams with fragility mes and bring lots of conditions, though don't make your team build around it.
You need some initial damage to get urgoz beneath 90% health, eles are good at this, with ele spells, take your pick. Easiest and safest way is if the two eles run up and spam on urgoz while spamming heal party on the monks or making a chain of people, one monk is cast range of eles one monk then another cast range while others wait at top of the room., once below 90% health use summon spirit to put EoE in range (test by one ele running up to urgoz) then all come back and two or three people run around at the front making the pops appear.

Probably the most important aspect of doing urgoz is knowing the area and being familiar with where things pop. Regarding urgoz and his healing... I haven't redone the area since the last hm armor update, but urgoz himself does regenerate pretty quickly. That is normal.

Urgoz has like 6 health regeneration or something. You notice it because you can't apply damage continuously. There are a couple urgoz threads here and the http://www.gwpvx.com/Build:Team_-_7_Hero_Urgoz available on gwpvx describing the urgoz part.
In general, you use Savannah Heat, Ray of Judgment, Chaos Storm, etc. with use rush tactics to drop urgoz under 90%, then it's simply running around triggering EoE.

The serpents do not heal urgoz,so you can completely ignore them.

i think spoil victor is pretty effective on urgoz himself too.

Thanks for all the comments guys, really appreciate the help.
We did manage the run on our second try, much easier this time round. We ran 2x SF for the Ele's, switched the SoS spirits to a hero and ran a ToF/Healing Para and a Fragility Mes
Most groups just melted and Urgoz and the Serpents at the end were pretty much toast without too much effort at all.
Definitely be quicker if i knew more spawns inc those rooms you should leave someone behind for but this was just about the achievement of having done it and the HoM statue so the guild is now happy!
Thanks!!!

OK need some help with Urgoz. We have tried twice and failed both times at Urgoz. Until the final room, it's cake walk, but the final room drags until -60 DP and we give up...
2 Humans, 10 heroes (3 mez signets, 3 discord necro, 1 SOS rit, 1 heal monk, 1 prot monk)
The major issue we are facing is that the heroes are plain stupid and get bombed by the summoned minions that deal 300 dam.
We tried moving the flags, having them run with us, but the micro fails and they all die. Any tips? Our guild is down to 2 active (+1 semi-active) members and short of finding a new one, we are out of luck with heroes on this dungeon.

if you can get EoE up in the room, i'm pretty sure you can just flag heroes out of the room after he starts to spawn pods and the 2 humans can run around in the room while the EoE kills him.

yer too many heroes would be a bit of an issue as they are pretty dumb. ST shelter rit, dropped where the EoE is would help, similarly a dedicated res (UA?). Problem with EoE as i see it is that you need Urgoz @ <90% health first and he regens reasonably fast so you need an big initial spike.
Depends on you micro if you ask me, if you can micro some 2 sec skills on the heroes and move them, in the 3 sec window, your golden. Otherwise, its a tough call imo (bear in mind i started this thread for advice though!)
Could you drop a conset just to get the job done? faster casts would help (obviously) just for urgoz to get him under 90%?

BuH is your friend here! Have EoE up and keep it up!
All I do when i get to Urgoz is lock heroes onto him flag them close to him and when they die rez with BuH. Run around to pop growths. Rinse and repeat with BuH! Never fails!
