Vanquishing Magus Stones

.. And i am obviously 20 kills short. Where are they? Anyone?

Only place I can see where there might be some is in the bottom left corner, among what looks to be rocks - there seems like there might be a passage through those, but I can't remember if there actually is or not.

I have a vague memory of having a similar issue when I VQ'd Magus... I can't remember if it was a passage through hills/rock that I missed seeing, or a roving Wind Rider patrol or what... but like I said, I have a vague memory of a similar problem.

Yeh, i reckon there isn't, since those things you call rocks, are in fact islands. :P

Me too thinks your problem is in the bottom left...

1) first there should be a bunch of frogs at that water part (your pictures gives me the idea you didnt went down far enough)

2) the *is* a road between the rocks part at bottom left (islands need water... that part has no water)... i dont see there any dots at all.

Maybe spiders that triggered late after you walked through the passage on the right. Otherwise, probably a patrol in the middle.

Are you in hard mode?

By looking at the icons of the dungeon and the quest I think you are not in Hard Mode.

As for the missing groups, at the bottom left corner, near the entrance to Arachni's Haunt, there is a bunch of spiders as far as I can remember.

I didn't even notice that - but you're right... s/he isn't even in hard mode. Those are definitely normal mode icons unless they're using some sort of TexMod overlay to change them.

I just assumed when s/he said "20 kills short," they were making an estimate based on progress on the red helmet counter thingy.

I was about to say "probably a patrol, there's lots in that map, or bottom left corner" but yeah you forgot to put hard mode on...that's why vq doesn't get completed :/

Patrols are a pain though, I was stuck on an area in the early Shiverpeaks, turns out there is a little side path you can go down. I still think Anet should release a mod that gives away the last few monsters locations, like the pulse motion detector in the film Aliens. There is nothing less fun than running around a map for 45 minutes looking for the last group!

Entering too late but for those posting about the rocks on the bottom left, the OP is correct, there is no passage there. The map and the terrain do not agree here and there is a large body of water to the west that does not appear on the map.
