Today I had a dead staff drop for me in Tyria. Its been so long since I've actually been in Tyria that I can't recall what can and can't be done with it.

Here are the mods :

Hale Dead Staff
halves skill recharge ( 20% )
energy + 10
earth dmg 11 - 22 ( communing 9 )
halves casting time death magic spells ( 20% )
HP + 28

I like the skin which is the only reason I even care to ask. What are my options with this staff or is it just merchant fodder?

If you are asking strictly if this staff has any resale value other than a merchant or for the not-quite-perfect Hale mod...this would likely be better posted in the Price Check forum

No I was not asking for a price check. Maybe my first post was unclear - I was asking what are my upgrade options and if it would be a suitable staff for my communing Rit

It is a common skin, and being non-inscribed, means it is junk since it has non-matched inherent.

You have little to no options for this staff, since the inherent is HCT 20% DEATH MAGIC, and not com, resto, chan, spawn.

BUT you can run an rt/N channeling MM (exlosive growth etc)

thanks Olle , your answer was the sort that I was looking for. I dont care that its a common skin that has no resale value. I might cob a Rt/N build to play around with as opposed to the generics

on the other hand....the OP likes the skin and if they don't mind the "wasted" Death Magic mod that can't be taken off, it's a perfectly serviceable r9 communing staff. It can still take a prefix and a suffix mod to improve upon the communing requirement. A necro hero or character running a communing build would be fine imo, esp if you can find a Death Magic skill or two that would benefit from the inherent mod...

EDIT: doh, took too long thinking over my reply, double ninja'd

It works just fine for any MM, as they aren't really there for autoattack damage.
