Speaking of bots.....
Perkunas
Over the past 3 or 4 days, I have been in and out of Bergen Hot Springs (Asia Korean) quite a bit. During my "visits", I have noticed the same 4 monks, 2 mo/me and 2 mo/w, appearing, pausing a few seconds, then sidestepping to the left and head out of town. They all have "legit" names and 2 belong to guilds. The sidestep is what caught my eye. Has anyone else noticed something similar?

Bergen has always been know for bots.
As for 'legit' names, I guess there's only so many dfgjh sgiyuf names there can be :P

could also be people just farming for the event items in cursed lands. with a generic 55 build you can solo vanq cursed lands with ease

Bergen is a farming spot. Lot's of golds and purples dropping there. Plenty of undead, melt away before holy damage, good 55 farming. I saw two Monks, standing still. Anyway

You've probably been using ; <spacebar> to collect loot, it selects the nearest object and 'talks' to it. In Bergen it will bring you to the signpost near the entrance. From there it takes sidestepping to the left, then walking to head out. I do that often, just make it more smooth and sidestep before stopping at the signpost
Not enough to distinguish a bot from a farmer (not a regular player) I think.
About 4 billion with 6 characters (including digits).

They appear, pause about 5 seconds, sidestep to the left, then run up the path in town. Not sidestepping at the sign like they use to. Every so often, they seem to freeze, then run in a random direction, colliding with a wall, "scrape" it, then vanish. They appear in town at about 5 to 10 minute intervals.

Not everyone farming there is a bot (i used to farm there too, looong time ago), but ofcourse there are players (or even companies) who dont play by the rules.
Best way to report suspicious players is by making screenshots and send them to anet support. You need to mention the names, district and date/time and they will look into this (i did this quite often).

Even if they are bots, four of them doesn't sound too bad. I remember back in the day there used to be a constant river of them flowing towards the exit, many of them were players as well.

I saw a dozen farmers yesterday, pop in, move to the exit, some by hand, some probably ;-spacing. One of them went to the merchant, another one was almost through the veil of the exit when he made an 180. Pressed space again and his character made an 180 turn. Or maybe his mouse acted up, like mine does sometimes. Quite funny to watch.
I am sure there are still bots around in the game, but I couldn't really figure out if any of this lot was botting, or just farming.

At this point in time....does it matter?
Not saying I condone botting mind you but I'd say other areas need this issue addressed WAY before Bergen even gets a look in.

Bergen maybe not, but botting in general, yes. Botters, at least where rmt is involved, steal server resources for their own profits.
