Sharktooth Shield r7/15

Hey, I'd like a PC on sharktooth shield r7 with 15 Armor. It's blue and insc.

What atribute is it? if tactics it is worth something, the other 3 atributes are merch fodder if i'm correct

To help with the pc, I tried selling a q8/16 blue/tac/insc Sharktooth for a couple weeks and ended up selling it for 15e to a person who was watching my thread but pmed me in game instead of posting on my thread... It seemed like there was not much interest in the shield since no one was bidding but I recall shortly after that someone else was selling an identical shield to mine which had a C/o of 35e and a B/o price of 50e.

For your shield, I remember a couple weeks/ a month ago that someone was posting in game to buy your exact shield and I pm'ed them in game asking how much they would pay, they said they would pay 25e for a blue 7/15.

I'd say the price for your shield would be somewhere in this kind of range...

Agreed about the early bump and a shame that the question was even asked, since I'm pretty sure Sharktooth Shields come only in Tactics (unlike some other shield skins that come in multiple attributes.)

For future reference, you can always answer questions to add clarification by EDITING your existing posts. Editing a post doesn't "bump" your thread to the top of the list the way posting a new reply does, and so there are no limits on how often you can edit a post.

Not too long ago, 15/7 Tactics shields seemed more popular and easier to sell than 16/8s. I don't know what was driving the demand up or if it's still going on, but before that happened it had seemed for years like the PC for inscribable 15/7 and 16/8 Tactics shields was usually about the same number, only varying by skin and text color. Anyway, given that recent history, were this mine to sell I would probably go into it with somewhat higher reserve expectations than I would for a 16/8.

The skin is a tricky one. On the supply side, they're not the rarest but they're far from what I'd call common to see for sale (in any color, any req.) On the demand side, they're one of those love-them-or-hate-them skins. I know players that think they're hideous, and I know players that think they're awesome. (Dye on this particular skin has extremely notable effects.) When a fan goes looking to buy one, they often find very few, if any, available for sale. On the flip side, I've seen cases where a seller finds very few, if any, fans interested in buying.

So I think the PC on these needs to include the caveat that it depends on how much time/effort/luck you are willing to put into this. If you're just looking to sell it fast (week or so) for whatever you can get, I'd say 20e is probably the lowest you should reasonably go to pique the interest of buyers who only kind of like them or are looking for an investment. If you're the type to hang onto rarities until you find a motivated buyer looking for exactly what you have ... honestly, I can see it being more like 40e, maybe even 50e.

No matter your choice of style, I recommend making sure it gets logged in argos. Things like low-req insc. Tactics shields seem to get a lot of buyers and sellers hooked up via argos these days. If you don't know about argos GWEstimator, it's a player-created script that logs the trade chat in AD1 Kamadan (only that district, only trade chat, and it's not logging 24/7 - sometimes the character he leaves in there afk catching the trade chat gets disconnected or something) and copies it to a text-string searchable database anyone can access on a website. Either make sure your spam gets logged or spend some time a few times a day for a couple days getting into Kama AD1 and putting something like ...

WTS 15/7 Sharktooth Shield (blue Tactics inscribable) 7/15 - 45e b/o, taking offers, too

... to get that in the log where anyone searching argos for "Sharktooth Shield" "15/7" or "7/15" will see it along with your IGN and whisper you if interested. Putting it in a High End Sell thread here at Ventari's wouldn't be a bad idea either.

Last Dec. (2011) I bought a blue 14/6 Sharktooth for 20e (~140k) As a rough rule, 14/6 Tact. insc shields were about 75% the fair market value for 15/7 and 16/8 versions for a few years; I don't know how that relates to the recent 15/7 demand spike.


tl;dr - Were it mine, I'd have reserve of at least 20e if I was in a hurry and buyout more like 40-50e.
