A New Look for GuildWars.com

Im Excited, can't wait!

It's been almost two weeks since the announce and nothing else has been mentioned or changed from what I can tell so much for over the next few weeks like they stated.

Not exactly official, but I figured that's not a place most people look for information so I should post it here.

That is however a matter of how you understand wording.
A few weeks can be up to 3-4 weeks. Since the definition of few is " Being more than one but indefinitely small in number"

well, we can only hope they keep their timeline---we know from the past that things dont always work out the way they are planned (new chapter every 6 months, monthly updates, etc)....so
we shall see.

They could even make it, for once: I believe the new website was commissioned...

Doesn't look like they're going to make it within March, although they do have 4 hours remaining...

Where'd you hear that, that it was commissioned that is?

Just replace Blizzard with ANet and maybe soon with "few weeks" lol.

This basically applies to all mmo companies they seem to be horrible with time lines.

Nah. With ANet isn't "Soon", it's "When it's done".

They may tell other dates, but that's always a mistake, because n the end, it's always "When it's done".

Or just less disciplined when it comes to giving out realistic ones.

Simply, companies rarely design and mantain websites by themselves, and usually turn to web design professionals to get things done.

So, well, I suppose it is, since that's how it's usually done.

It would be nice to see a first party "argosoft"-style interface. With market tracking and such.

Maybe a new "Quiet Isles" outpost with an all chat that is linked between that outpost and a web chat as well?

Or ally chat if you log in?

Or the Marketplace?

Or auctions??

or..

Any word on the new site?

Just checked - it doesn't look much different to me.

But then my last visit was 6 months ago and by accident.

gee, go figure----maybe they really did mean march of 2013? 2014???

Or maybe they wants to add stuff that turned out to be hard to implement?

See, this is why ArenaNet never should announce anything before they actually release it. Because all they get is whine if something unexpected happens.

One can always read into the current facts and surmise that it'll be done when it's done?

Who knows, maybe it's not even ArenaNet's fault? Like Gill said, it's possible their Web Developers out-sourced some/a lot of the work and are waiting to implement for reasons unknown. Meaning, and all together now, that it'll be done when it's done?

Perhaps we should be taking bets on what gets done and released first - GW2 or the website.

I wager 50 quatloos that the first GW2 BWE will begin before the new website is completed.

The incoming 7th Anniversary seems a perfect date for this redesign. But honestly I don't know what's there to be excited about, I'm more worried and saddened about the loss of all old content. For the sake of nostalgia I love to browse the old old stuff there, many don't remember or know it dates back as early as mid-2003!
