I'm sort of new to guild wars, or rather new to the more intricate elements of the game (played it on and off for 6 years but only ever really played it as a single player game, or something like that).
I've been in guilds in other similar games, but I've been wondering, how exactly do you go about getting in an active guild in GW?
I don't ever see people advertising them on chat in the major cities (although I guess that makes sense considering guild wars has quietened down over the years).
Also, as a side question, as a European player would I have any issues with joining a mostly american guild?
Joining/Finding guilds?

hmm first of all there is a guild recruitment section on this forum. But beside that, the best way to go is to american district kamadan to find guildrecruiters.
If you are considering joining an american guild consider the time difference. but there are also a lot of european guilds out there.

Recruiting guilds are all around, just keep your eye open.
Try capital cities and Embark Beach and GWG recruitment section.

Also many guilds are in mixed alliances, so you will have euro and american players to group up with.

Some people say that joining a Guild/Alliance that recruits in game are to be avoided. I say Nay, some of my best GW's experiences have been from joining those LA, Kamadan recruiting Guilds.
Some have been pathetic (starts with a K), others I was sad to leave (poor leader wanting to get the Guild up and running but hard to get keepers when big established Guilds around!).
