I think the rarity here is that it's r3 and gold. Do you remember if it's a recent drop or if it's something you've had for years? There's been a fair bit of discussion and speculation lately on the gear stat thread about if it's still possible for the game's loot generation system to produce gold text items with r3 or lower. Years ago, it was certainly possible, but it seems that currently the game either cannot produce them or does so only extraordinarily rarely.
It's your shield so up to you if and how you sell it, but I strongly advise you against selling it to private offers. Were that mine to sell, I would list it in a High End Sell thread here and give it at least a week before selling to the highest offer. It would not surprise me one bit to see this spark quite a bid war.
Cheers & GL!
EDIT -
Use the "Edit" button on your posts to answer questions rather than posting replies - posting replies to your own Ventari's threads more often than once every 24 hrs is against the rules and will get you in trouble with the mods. But thanks for the information that gold r3s still drop! It would be great if you posted a screenshot on that thread for our records.Oh, but if it is indeed a recent drop, then I change my recommendation above a little bit ... start it in a Low End thread. I still doubt it's merchfood, but if these things can still drop there might not be quite as much interest/demand to justify starting it out as a 100k+ value thread. If the bids come up to 100k or beyond, you can always change the prefix by editing the OP of your Sell thread accordingly.

Very nice shield indeed and very useful. When maxing 2 attributes (12+12) you have just enough points left after that to put 3 points in something else. For anyone not using their secondary profession for anything useful this shield adds an extra 3 points of free armor compared to using an AL 16 shield and not meeting rec which would add 8 armor.
For a 60 AL target wearing a shield this means a damage difference of around 22 points of damage compared to wearing a shield which gives +8 armor if taking 500 damage.
Put it up for auction ^^
