On Thursday Tuesday March 27 2012, we’re going to conduct a network maintenance on our German datacenter at 4 AM PDT (6 AM CDT / 7 AM EDT / 11 AM GMT). We expect the work to take up to 4 hours. Guild Wars could be affected by the maintenance, including possible disconnections and login errors from the game.
  • Start time: Tuesday March 27 2012, 4:00 AM PDT (6 AM CDT / 7 AM EDT / 11 AM GMT)
  • End time: Tuesday March 27 2012, 8:00 AM PDT (10 AM CDT / 11 AM EDT / 3 PM GMT)
  • Impact Duration: Four hours, intermittent

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your patience and understanding.

This is probably a stupid question, but if the work is being done in the German Data Center does it still mean that all districts could be affected?

Does anybody else read this as "we're installing a boatload of servers for the GW2 beta weekend event in April..."?

I hope that they are trying to fix the issues many of the European players have been having and not something to do with gw2---there have been TONS of euro players having issues with not being able to load, dc's and such.

We're aware of the network problems that some players are experiencing and our technical teams are investigating the issue.

We're very sorry about the inconvenience caused.

Yeah still having major problems here.

It isn't like Euro servers were much faster for Euros to use than US servers in the first place, with the added network issues we might as well just switch to US servers anyway.

It easier for them to maintain American servers because Anet is located in the US but in Europe its more difficult. Chances are its some guy in Europe not doing his job.

I say wild mass guessing about GW2 and April Fool's Day should be more prevalent.

I certainly hope they take the Blizzard approach to European servers rather than the Sony way.

I still hate Sony for having maintenance in the middle of the day. Sony did have servers located in Europe but they were remotely controlled and they ran maintenance in Europe at the same time as in the US.
