Need Weapon Valuation Advice

Hey everyone
First time posting here (at least I think it is, I thought I already had an account a couple of years ago but I don't have access to the email any more) and I have to admit, I'm a bit embarrassed to be making this post.

I've been a GW player on and off now for 6 years this month and I have no idea how to value weapons. To be honest I've never really been that bothered about it, I'm not a bit fan of trading, I get bored too easily so the vast majority of weapons that I pick up I just sell to the merchant.

I used to have this naive view that green weapons where worth the most, fact of the matter is most of them aren't hardly worth anything and in fact a lot of blue or gold weapons are actually worth the most. Problem is I have no idea what separates a 2K weapon from a 200K weapon, or even more.

Getting my next few Hall of Monument points is going to rely solely on money, so knowing if what I pick up every day is worth something or not would help greatly.

I've read through the basic price check guide and learned a lot but to be honest I don't understand all the jargon.

Also cant find anything on bows/scythes/daggers. Does that mean they are worthless?

If anyone could just give me a couple of tips I would really appreciate it.
