Help for a complete GW noob

Well i've had this game since xmas and i have searched and searched for BASIC guides but cant find any on the sites i'm looking on - just endless lists of Builds!

Can anyone advise me on these simple things?
Are there quests that are absolutely essential or where u get really good items(like resurrection symbol)- who should i see? Are there guides for each character that tell you who to see so u can learn all the possible skills? What weapon/armour should i use - are there any guides - should i have a few wands/staffs to deal with the diff monsters?
If anyone could point me in the direction of simple starters guides - I would be grateful!

Try Guild Wiki. I think you'll find information on Quests, skills and such.

The main page of Guru (this site) has a section Tools and Resources that has a lot of useful information. There are also a couple of guides in the Knowledge Base part. Some of the info may be slightly out of date but it will give you a good start.
