Hi,
I have a question regarding control problems with GW on my gf's rig.
All the controls options are default and normally she could use the number keys for skills, like 1, 2 or whatever. But suddenly she can't do that anymore and pressing 1, 2 and the like changes the tabs in the chatting window.
Also pressing the space bar sometimes does not work.
What went wrong? Was it a setting or something else. Sometimes it works and sometimes it won't. It isn't the mouse or keyboard. Tried several already.
This is driving her nuts and i never got that problem in my games.
EDIT:
Got it solved. I told her again about not pressing SHIFT and surprise..... no problems anymore. Women and their drama sometimes. Perhaps i should add a shock effect to that SHIFT key.

the "shift" button is pushed, like dust or anything
i had that alot, so i know its shift being hold
clean your keyboard or watch your buttons if they got stuck by something
remember: with SHIFT + 1,2,3 you get !,@,# instead
oh , you said its not the keyboards.... does she hold SHIFT by accident? like automatically
1 more thing: try looking at the key config in GW

are there any programs running in the background (not gw...instant message programs, virus programs, etc)? Some of these have been known to mess up key stokes in gw.

Yeah, sort of like the above - is she using any 'modifier key' like Ctrl or Alt for some other function (such as a Ventrilo talk key)?
Or, there could be some app running in the background, like MSN, or a media detector, etc, that intercepts keystrokes before they reach GW (not too likely though)
Another possibility is that she accidentally got 'sticky keys' or some other Accessibility Option turned on. Check in the control panel under Accessibility Options (XP?) or Personalization > Ease of Access Center (Win7) and check that there's not some setting that causes the Shift, Ctrl, and/or Alt keys to stay 'pressed' until pressed again.
