Question Re Oppressor Weapons

I'm looking to hit the "full display" (11 weapons) for the monument of valor in my hom. I need an additional 8 weapons to reach this target. Are oppressor weapons the cheapest weapons to buy out of tormented/destroyer/oppressor?

Also, looking at the wiki it states I need 10 Medals of Honor per weapon, and a medal of honor can obtained by exchanging 25 war supplies. So I need a total of 80 medals of honor (or 200 war supplies) to get 8 weapons. Any ideas how much this will cost me at present? Are people trading these items in such quantities? I did a brief search of the sell forum and didn't get many results...

war supplies sell for 300-350g each which is 600,000g to 700,000g

Yes, i believe that the oppressor weapons are both the cheapest and the easiest to get yourself. Destro weapons are easy to craft if you've got some diamonds and granite from previous playing, but the diamond prices went up drastically.

But. You need 80 medals or 8*250=2000 war supplies. It's 25 supplies each medal.
The supplies are about 300-320g each now, but they're hard to buy, especially in bigger amounts. This makes oppressor weapons possible for, at minimum, 75-80k.
That's, however, optimistic and takes a while. I bought seven oppressor weapons during the last two days actually, and i paid anywhere from 75k to 11e+15k each, as i didn't want to waste time or haggle too much. I went double way, shouting WTB for both war supplies (often got 10-20 supplies from a person) and ready oppressor weapons.
It's safe to assume that one oppressor weapon is 95-100k and then be surprised that you actually saved n-ty plats than the other way around.

You can also get medals and war supplies on your own - just finish EotN with your PvE char, get access to LA, and you can start War in Kryta. Doing the whole WiK and then Hearts in the North will yield you 15 medals per character (possibly more via Royal Gifts), making it 3 weapons from every two characters you got through. In addition, you are bound to get some extra war supplies on the way, as well as you'll unlock further Shining Blade bounties known as Wanted, which yield more war supplies.

Oppressor weapons go for between 60k and 80k each (the normal extremes if you try to shop for it in Kamadan). Since 1 opppressor wep = 10 medals = 250 war supplies....each war supply would go for about 240-320 gold each.

Destroyer weapons used to be about the same but with prices of diamonds going through the roof recently (you need 10 diamonds to craft one weapon) your probably looking at about 80k minimally for one (ive seen a lot of sales asking for 10-12e for a destroyer wep recently.

So yeah oppressor is probably the cheapest if you are looking to buy yor way to this HOM.

Couple side notes:

If you haven't completed WiK yourself, you will not have access to either the NPC in Lions Arch Keep who will turn the War Supplies into Medals or the NPCs who will trade you an Oppressor weapon for those medals.

Also, be wary of anyone offering to sell you the Medals directly instead of War Supplies. The Medals are account-locked and cannot be traded. The WS can.

Sometimes you'll come across someone with medals offering to go craft the weapon for you. I personally would be suspicious of such transactions...but then I'm rather paranoid about that kind of thing :P

Drakor - send me a screen if you find an oppressor weapon - or a stack of war supplies - for 60k nowadays.
75-80k is the lowest possible now. Destro weapons used to be 20-25k each when i crafted mine, long before the HoM calculator came in. Still they're cheaper than tormenteds (20-22 ectos for a ready weapon to 23-24 ectos for an armbrace).

That's fine, actually - after all, you post your order and wait until the seller actually gets the desired weapon for you, and only then you pay; you trade your cash for a ready weapon, just never pay anything upfront.

The prices have definitely gone up. In the fall I was selling stacks or weapons if I had to go get them for 65k, up to 75k if someone had a wtb for that amount. In the last 2 months I have not even bothered to list a wts for ws or stacks as there is almost always someone on with a wtb for as high as 400g/ws or 100k for a stack/weapon. Though I will usually sell to those that only want to buy in the 25-40ws range for over 300g/ws. I don't really need the gold anymore since I have all the "buy" titles, but it is nice to have gold to waste on silly minis and armors to just have them.

Will do drkn on the screens. Yeah ive actually seen 65kish several times recently. Maybe i should have bought them myself and resold lol? Also saw a WTS of war supplies for 300g each probably about a week ago.

Like i said destroyer weps ive seen for 10-12e recently which was kind of surprising since they too used to be much less. That said, someone was selling a destroyer item (focus i believe) for 55k just last night.

But yes...agreed with everyone going HOM crazy im just glad i got all weps i needed a long time ago.

I've sold many "ready" oppressor weapons to buyers in the past. I ask the buyer to show the gold or ecto before hand. I then go craft the weapon, and return to make the trade. I haven't had any problems with this process, and would recommend making trades this way.

Anyways, about 3 months ago I was selling oppressor weapons for 70k a piece (buyer got to choose which weapon) without too much trouble. But now it seems like they have gone up to around 80k.
