GW1 Could have had this and i hope GW2 will have this
but it prob wont
my idea is that you could get an in game camera and have to take photos of places in the game that are hard to reach or just pretty...
you could have to take photos of Landmarks outside on the map but also underground the map in places like sorrows furnace.
then give the photos to get closer to a reward
i dont know about you guys but when i 1st played GW1 i took screen prints of places i liked or thought were beautiful.
then you would also have runners taking people to those places like tour groups lol
maybe you could take photos of other things and store it in a book
trade the book to other players..
i like the idea... what do u guys think?

There are already explorer titles that are nearly identical to this. Your idea just includes the need to actually take a snapshot. I think most of us do what you are suggesting just because we love the game and it's beauty.

It's called print screen, AND it saves automatically.
If you don't like the chat feature and skill bar up there, all you have to do is disable it.
There are already enough titles as is.

you played zelda majora's mask or dark chronicles (also has another name) ?
those games allow you to make ingame screens (not screens in jpg) and is useful for a reward
i think you mean that, dont you?
it'd be fun to show screens to others ingame, without needing to register on pic upload sites
and would be funny if we could use a few pics for some quests
but i doubt there's time/space for that in GW (same with GW2), and dont know if the engine can do that kinda stuff
if you mean to make screens on your pc, then i didnt say anything, lol
so ingame pics would be fun, but prolly too much space/time/energy, and maybe cannot be done
nice idea though

Unfortunately, it was a stupid idea in Bioshock, as taking pictures mid combat was usually a danger to your health. Considering that explorer already exists, and screenshots already exist, I don't see this adding anything of quality to Guild Wars, either.

Also, if you were wanting something like items in-game to take photos (in-game cameras, if you will), isn't the technology a little too far forward as to where guild wars 1 is set?
Hell, even in gw2, I think that the technology used for cameras may be suited to there, but only the technology used when they were first invented. As in, old sepia-tone photos.

I enjoy the idea, but would probably not see it implemented unless one of the devs was determined in pursuing it.
For all your amazing GW screenshots, make sure to visit:
http://bloogum.net/guildwars/
It is definitely one of the most under-appreciated GW-material sites out there.
That's a little bit creepy. That's also what sites like Photobucket and Imageshack are for.

Even if you go for cartographer, you might still miss many great spots in the maps.
Sometimes there's frescos in ceilings, small things in the bushes, statues behind other structures, mysterious places you might otherwise miss...
In Nightfall, a few of those places are marked with Treasures (Jade shipwreck, Pile of treasure, glowing cracks...), but in Factions, Prophecies and Eye of the North, and still many other places in Nightfall, they will be missed if the player do not look carefully at the map, instead just watching the radar.
Have you ever seen the tile Compass Rose in Arborstone? Or the murals of the gods through Ascalon? Or the small Shrine to Balthazar in Maguuma? Or the second Statue of Grenth in the Catacombs?
Although late for such an endeavor, it would have been great if there was something like this in GW.
Look at something, take a screenshot, and receive a "you have seen one of the X unique landamarks in Tyria" until you get them all.
