Heyas guys
For a long time I've been doing fowsc and focussed on T1 A/E.
Now I want to improve my run times. I have no problems getting ready for mage at 16-17 age, but I want to be faster
I've already swapped mentals out for any optionals and experimented with "Finish Him!", Vipers Defense and Snow Storm.
Finish Him was nice at both battlefield and ToS, but im sure there are better options.
Vipers Defense was only usefull at ToS and didnt make any difference imo. Maybe im taking too small mobs at a time or something.
Snow Storm was horrible. No usage at battlefield/burning, and hard to use at ToS. All abyssals scatter no matter how/where I block them. For rangers its useless as well.
so, does any of you know any fun/fast optionals and more important; how do you use it? This is for A/E only, I know Rangersplit is much faster.
Thanks in advance!

Rad Field is good if you take Viper's Defensewith it, but unless you have your Sliver/IAU/Scythe tradeoff timing down you'll die consistently. If that happens, just take Rad Field and Armor of Earth. If you want a zoom zoom burning forest you can always take triple step, but at this point you're gaining time and losing it in others.
I usually take Techno and Viper's/Armor of Earth. This allows for a 4 minute battlefield, then 7 minutes forest done. After that you can preclear ToS and if you care about time block + ghastly. If your forge team isn't bad then you can have ToS ready for the mage at 11-13 minutes with good pulls and sliver timing. Here the time is gained at battlefield, and Viper's saves probably no more than 20-30 seconds at ToS. With FH your battlefield is more spawn dependent and thus will bump up to about 5m, but you also gain a little more time and security at ToS and burning.
If you really want to take it to the next level get a 40/40 earth set and switch to it when you cast sliver. This can totally throw off your IAU timing, though, so be sure to bring Armor of Earth and Vanguard or Piercing armor.
Just some thoughts. Good luck terraing.

I'm already using a 30 set (spear "let the memory live again" + focus "forget me not"), and i wonder, is using a 40/40 set really worth the 20% enchant loss?

Well, with Rad Field you're getting up to an extra 6 pips of degen initially, so that's a pretty big deal. (65% more than viper's or something) Energy management at ToS with Rad Field is fine as long as you're swinging your scythe around enough.
Honestly I'm not familiar enough with the math to tell you whether or not your current setup is better than a 40/40 set but I do know that with eggs and corn you can recast SF with no weapon and still maintain it. Random Namos
True about the Rad Field part, im gonna try that aswell. I can imagine having a bit faster melee kill at battlefield and burning with it as well.
All i know is that enchant mod gives you 2.2 extra seconds of sliver. And with the 30% set, it saves time at tos rangers and battlefield. I also know that with all that math stuff 30% and 40% arent the real recharge numbers. Wiki states that 40/40 will give you 36% of halve recharge. And 30set was something like 28% if i remember correctly. So its either 2.2 extra seconds, or 8% extra chance for halve recharge, but im prolly wrong at these numbers. Also, is the usage for Techno the same as before the update? cuz I can't get it to work with the tactics you used in your vids Too bad you stopped making vids, I loved the commentary and the epicness itself loshon
Battlefield techno tactics are almost the same, at priest you have to sliver the berserker before you start slivering the Priest but without perfect timing on techno and a silencing weapon mod you're unlikely to kill the priest in just one sliver.
I stopped making videos because I realized I didn't have time to cover SC tactics in their entirety, and I got very bitter about what role GWs played in my life for around 6 months. I might do a few more just to say I did, but with GW2 on the horizon I honestly can't see near the interest that they had when I started last spring. ChampionOfDragon
Just a thought, exchange AoE for Stoneflesh Aura? You wouldn't lose the speed from AoE.

But you would need to stop and spend 2s casting it every 15s or so, which slows you down a lot more than AoE does. AoE is only really needed in a couple of places so even with no cupcake it should only slow you up by about a minute.
