Finished Prochecies now what?
Griftter
Should I go to EOTN and try to finish and get all tapestries up in the HOM first or should I move on to either of the other two campaigns?
Thanks much.

I would go to Nightfall first, just so you can get heroes and be able to play around with them. Because, once you understand the game and have enough skills unlocked, your heroes should be much better than the henchmen. Then I would do EoTN for the PvE skills and the heroes and save Factions for last since it doesn't have much other than 2 Assassins heroes (and one Ritualist hero that's very hard to get) and some Factions-only skills.
EoTN should be the most difficult of the campaigns so, if you go there now, you may have a little more trouble than if you save it for a little later.

I would do EotN next. You also get Heroes there, and they don't need to be leveled up and they come better equipped. In either case though, you will need to equip your heroes with skills, weapons and armor mods.

I think that's up to your preferences, Don't go to Eye just for the tapestries, there's totally no rush needed for those, but as Quaker said it's a fast way to grab a decent amount of ready-to-use heroes, if you have something ready for them (builds and equip).
I would instead advise against doing Nightfall first just for heroes - it's too long a campaign and if you do it before the rest and you don't like it you'll regret having to stick there for so much time (I always do).
Imho, after such a long campaign as Prophecies, you should do something fast just for a change, so either Eye or Factions, both very quick. And honestly I always feel like Factions is the most money-rewarding place in the game, so if you need some it might be a good help. Oh and imho the best skills in the game are there, especially the elites.

if you dont mind doing pieces...I would jump over to nightfall and get the heroes (also unlocks a few skills)....do the quests until consulate docks--and get the hero olias--so you can have a necro hero. (from eye you will get a monk, ele and mesmer to start with, nightfall will net you a warrior, 2 monks, dervish and either an ele or ranger).
Then get over to either factions or eye (factions would be easier on the heroes as they can level up pretty fast if you do the quests there)....as well as getting a few more skills from that campaign.

If it was my alt I'd hop between eotn and nf to get heroes. Go to LA and pick up olias, go to eotn and pick up, vekk, ogden, gwen and Xandra (from Norn fighting tournament)
Then jump to nf and get all heroes up to master of whispers. After that it's your decision if you'd rather go for Livia or Norgu first.
Anyways, getting heroes and skills for them (If you don't already do zaishen elite daily you should aim for that, as it'll pay for your hero's skills) should be your first priority as it'll make life easier.
Then go ahead and finish the campains, with protectors if you aim for hom points. war in kryta/winds of change are also fun but more dificult, so you should save them until you've finished all the standard campaigns.

I've recently completed Proph myself with my first toon; and had to make the same choices, ultimately I headed north.
1. Because I like the Shiverpeaks setting best;
2. I kinda missed Killing Charr;
At the same time I've been trying to run up a brand new Ele in Nightfall, in the background not too seriously; so far its sooo boring; but then again I've no love of tutorial areas, and have said before I wish experienced players could skip them entirely; hopefully Nightfall gets better around Lvs 16 to 20; but right now its a tedious leveling grind; and the desert setting does not offer much relief in terms of game art.
Returning to the North, EoTN seems to me to be even more Story Driven than Prophecies was, in one Early Quest you have to with the help of your new Charr Ally break some Humans out of a Charr Jail, of course we could not track down our friends without the now helpful Charr because our Human Rangers are too incompetent to track a company of Charr driving a load of Prisoners;
And then the Charr have to show us sadly incompetent humans how to break our friends out of Jail using a Devourer as a Siege weapon and Dino as a Ram; Because of course no Lv20 Wizard could use a Earth Quake spell to Shake the gate open? San's Charr; No option for such (obvious) creativity, the Charr will be your friends now, and you will do things as Scripted; thats just the A-Net way. Akkkk.[1]
I like the setting, the missions are challenging, but as to the Storyline; I very often find myself choking on my suspension of disbelief and very often want to chime in behind GWEN; What she Said, burn'em all.
On the other hand EoTN has Lots of Dungeons, if you like Dungeons this might well be your module. I wish I could recommend a clear choice but both seem to me to have pluses and Minuses, but for me so far EoTN has more pluses. The Missions are challanging and the combat is intense. BB.
*1 (BB to Dev's I Kill Charr, and Devourers I kill them too, I dont ride them I kill them. Long Live Queen GWEN. LOL)

Nightfall is the second longest campaign; if you decide you want to skip parts of the storyline because you now consider yourself an "experienced player" then of course you're going to find it boring because you won't understand 100% what is going on and what you're doing and why. If you actually play it through and actually watch the cutscenes, you'll see that the story gets quite involved on multiple levels and even links back through into the end-game events and areas in prophecies for a whole other historical background to the continent of Tyria.
If it's the first time you've played through a campaign, why would you want to skip through anything? What's the point of bothering to play it in the first place if you're just going to try and rush through it?

One more thing: if you want to do the campaigns in order of storyline, you'll want to do Factions and then Nightfall and then Eye of the North. Fac and Proph are essentially co-temporal, NF happens after, and EOTN is the "conclusion" (and bridge to GW2).
Radigand
Nightfall is the first campaign where writing got interesting, and addition of heroes introduced relationships between your team members, unlike henchmen from prophecies and factions. The story is not as good as in prophecies (a subjective opinion), but the pacing is right. Nightfall contains several of atmospheric places: Vabbi inspired by middle eastern culture (Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and others), is very beautiful; Desolation is even more depressing than Crystal Dessert, an Kourna is African themed province. If you don't rush through things, you might actually appreciate the scenery. I am replaying the campaign myself and enjoy every minute of it. To fully understand the story however, you'd better off starting a new character in Istan and having played through factions campaign.
Eye of the North is an expansion with the most comprehensive story, now that you've completed prophecies. However, the difficulty stays at the same level as Ice Floe from prophecies, and unless you've unlocked properly your hero skills, it'll be difficult to play though the content, since you're still considered inexperienced. Tarnished coast is my least favourite place due to this reason, because I still haven't unlocked meta builds for my heroes. GWEN will introduce all the the races save sylvari that will be in GW2, and GW: Beyond will explain what happens after eye of the north.
Skipping campaigns in my opinion is foolish without playing them once. And if you do this in order, you can actually see how development team has evolved from campaign to campaign. This will make you appreciate the next campaign more than the previous.

I do get alot out of the game; but I suspect we don't get the same things out of the game; which is just cool. My very favorite thing is to walk out the door of say Beacons Perch, and just wander through a zone I've never seen before; no story, no mission, no real purpose; just check out the art, and battle the Mobs; the Story, and the Cins are really dead last on my list of reasons to play. There is alot of much better Fantasy fiction I could kick back and read.
Kada
Yeaaaah, no offence but if your main "thing" is that you just like to wander and look at the art in a particular part of the game, it's not really the stance on the game to take to try and offer advice to other players. This person is asking for advice on what will progress them further through the game, not what "looks purdy".
As Radigand said, I would definitely play them in order (Proph -> Fact -> Night -> GWEN) and if you want even more backstory, go and watch the Shiro cinematic on GW.com to find out about the Jade Wind and Shiro's Betrayal before you start factions.

Now its War in Kryta, although you need to do EOTN for that too.
