Maybe it was implemented poorly and the new ones aren't in the gifts. Just a thought. The wiki is still very active. If the minis besides the 1-5 year minis were in the gifts, they would have been posted by now. Nothing has ever taken a week to make its way onto wiki. The community is just too good with the wiki for that.

I have a feeling that's what happened.

Why do you think it has to be different from what it says already on wiki. You get a purple gold or green from the prior years of mini's (no whites).

Cause whats written on the wiki is only what we know so far. And we have a direct statement from a game developer saying that there are more to be discovered.

PS: I'm the guy who wrote whats on the bloody wiki. And it's based off the information found in THIS thread.

Patience god dammit! Even if droprate is 1:1000 there's no guarantee we will even see one drop in the first month. Heck, even if it's 1:100 it could simply be bad luck.

And for the really, seriously rare miniatures such as panda / kanaxai (if these are possible drops) they wouldn't suddenly flood the market with them. Droprates in the range of 1:10 000 (estimated Polar Bear droprate) and 1:100 000 (some EL tonics from zchest) have been used before. And would likely be used again in an instance such as this. Primarily they're adding miniatures to help people complete HoM and then they're giving it a fun twist by adding something unknown.

For previous year items such as 6th year Tonics droprates have been 1:100 or so at worst for the top end ones. Here it's on a completely different level.

Currently most 7th year players are probably doing something else, their HoMs filled a long time ago, their interests swifted, their accounts maybe banned, or worse.

So all we can do is wait and see.

If no one gets a new one within a year, either the gifts are bugged, or the rates are way too low and should be tweaked a little.

Yeah, just look at the Zaishen Chest. After like a couple of months they made a statement that there were still drops to be discovered but they those drops were simply put very rare.

Agreed, I still play and my hall is full and rather then take a chance on a repeat I think I'll just sell them unopened. I have 6 chars. coming up on their 7th in the next couple of months.

If we assume that we don't have a proof yet that there are rare minis, then we should just sell the gifts unopened yes... Prices are really abusives, i saw 100e usually..

But if we just do some maths :
- 99% chances to get an old mini( assuming we got more chances to get purples, etc.. the average value could be at best 50k)
- 1% to get an asian one( including grawl, naga, yeti, let's say the average value is 5000k)

Mean average would tell 99% * 50k + 1%* 5000k = 99.5k, which is really far than those 100e..( I might be wrong on asian values, but even if we change it, the price is still really far from 100e).

sometimes I am glad that my characters wont age until this summer--so I get to find out what is inside (or not) bday gifts...though the downside is the prices have usually dropped by my bdays---such is life.

God, why are people so butthurt over all of this? Big deal, I've played for seven years. No matter what I do, I'll benefit. Sell it unopened for some ecto, open it and ded what's inside, or sell the thing to people who actually need it. I honestly don't see any of it as an insult to veteran players.

People getting offended over this just reinforces the elitist attitude that so many people have come to hate about this game, me included. "I have GWAMM title, I deserve more stuff. I have a character who's seven years old, I should get the best minis out there, even if I don't play them, and spit on the players who've only been playing for 3 years."

Grow up, people.

And so many people keep saying "well if they would've told us the minis would be repeats, I wouldn't be so disappointed." Yes you would. No matter what ANet does, there will always be that one, stupid person who gets pissed off and gets everyone else all riled up.

Another crappy mini doesn't benefit me usually. They are mostly given away unopened for the last couple years. BUT it does help people get their homs filled which can help NCsoft sell more gw2. So you can check that bs attitude like they are doing us a favor here.

This game demands grind unless you won something or are given stuff. I've earned every title. What does 7 years have to do with anything? They are still selling gw1 and all the chapters, costumes, etc. This trumps all game age talk.

Some disclosure would have been nice especially after building the anticipation so high. Look what they did last year. New mini's are not too much to ask for. Neither is a confirmation of possible rare mini's and the rate. That info has public before so why is it all hush hush now? Hey man, just expressing my opinions here. I just honestly don't see the fuss in so many people angry that they're recycling minis. I never said they were doing us a favor, I just expressed all the options available with the 7th year presents.

The 7 year thing was a point people were talking about pages back. With people comparing loyalty as age vs. how much they've accomplished as if it factors into what they deserve to get.

And the people who need to grow up? That's the entitled, elitists found everywhere. I really don't understand the need to point me out specifically, especially in the way that you did.

Finally, I never said anything about any kind of communist regime. If there's something wrong, yes, speak up, change it. But there are some tiny little things that sure, express an opinion, but don't go around blaming the company and treating yourself like a victim. That's all I meant by that.

Forums are for opinions. Opinions aren't fact. And I was just giving mine along with everyone else in this thread, thank you very much.

EDIT: I'll be woman enough to admit, I came off as a bit harsh. But it's only because I've had to endure a friend of mine bitching nonstop so I came here and some people were here doing the same. That is all.

It'd be funny if there was a bug and the intended asian minis that were supposed to drop weren't dropping. I'm surprised it's been this long and we still don't have confirmation on what's going on. Maybe it's time for some Stumme intervention.

I think the drop rate of "something new" should be higher cuz if in next few months GW 2 will be relased most players will move into GW2 and no one would care anymore about those minis.

Ill get my 7th birthday present in 2 years so most probably GW1 servers will be down then.
