I'd like to start off by saying this isn't a whine thread; not really. I needed to vent my frustration at the game somewhat, and hope that people can at the very least understand my perspective at the moment.

I've never completed a single Guild Wars campaign, but with HoM and Guild Wars 2 around the corner I decided it was time to play through the three and get those two Potector titles (as well as however many points I can build up before GW2 hits release).

I've just got to Kodonur Crossroads, and have done the mission there three times so far to no success. Why? Well it's certainly not through any fault of my own (or at least no fault that I can't easily pass on to someone else).

It's down to a pathing bug.

The first time I went into the area, I threw myself in to see what I needed to do and where, with little care for success. The second time was more concerted; I carefully mapped my way through the zone, picked off the bonus taskmasters and freed the centaurs. Then I made my way to the base...

So I attempted to pull the first mob. Success! The large pack of mobs came out as you would expect, and I began to systematically pick them off one by one. SADLY FOR ME... M.O.X. didn't seem to be reacting to any of my commands. I looked up and saw both he and Koss simply standing INSIDE the edge of the gate (slightly) staring at the mobs attacking me.

With them both out of the fight, I attempted to retreat to regroup only to find that they were quite stuck and wouldn't move. They then got killed. I then died. There was really no saving myself. I learned from the situation and went back in with intent.

I grinded through the REALLY HORRID pre-cursor to the final encounter (seriously... you guys rave about the story content like it's amazing; it isn't. It's pretty weak at times, and can be hugely boring at others (tis not all bad though)). Low and behold on second attempt, even with accounting for the bug, the SAME thing happened. And I died.

Now if this mission had simply killed me off by being quite difficult, I'd be perfectly fine with my noobness. However a game like Guild Wars, a game that has been out for 7 years, shouldn't have such pathing bugs, so instead of feeling challenged I simply feel slightly frustrated and greatly disheartened.

Up until now I had been enjoying the game quite a bit. Now I'm not. I feel cheated.

Maybe I need to go for a walk >.>

PS. I like Guild Wars. I loved Guild Wars 2. I'm not hating. I just needed to vent, as previously mentioned <3

PSS. Nice forum.

I assume you have not reported said bugs?

And as far as I know these are NOT widespread bugs. I have done said mission about 20 times and never had problems like this.

Try it without the melee-heroes.

Well first that mission is one of those NF missions that you actually have to pay some attention to it.

second, melee hero AI is still worse than casters. sorry to say this but melee AI in GW2 still sucks if you look at the pets. so yeah, stay away from them and oh that's why human is better

third, story IS amazing, at least I found prophecies's story amazing compare to any mmo I played which I can have absolutely no idea what the story is even in end game. you ay disagree but that's my feeling

Do not bring melee heroes (unless it's mandatory) and pay more attention to your mini-map. And yes, you should have gone for a walk instead of making whine thread. It is, no matter what you are saying

All I can say is that specific mission is actually one of the easer ones to do. I have never had a problem with Koss there, unless he was set to be agressive. You want to make sure that all of your heros are set to guard.

Hmm Even without mox and koss you should still be able to finish the mission quite easy.
But like some above said do not bring them if you do not have to. Casters are easier to control but to be honest my earthsaker Koss never has any problems like this.
Did you not accidentilly set him to avoid combat?

You are making the mistake of using Melee hero's, they suck in general, what you need is to get a MM or two and just use minions as a wall. Cheap easy to make and great when you need to run.

Mh your problem here doesn't seem to be only the bug (if it really is a bug), as aspi said you should have been able to finish the mission even without those 2. I mean, it's probably the easiest mission in all nf. So you may want to check your party being really good in general.
And really, as others said melee ai sucks so much...one out of 8 is still ok, but 2 is totally overkill...

Bugs or not the problems you're having with mobs comes down to your team setup. I'm sure you can see most of the replies have focused on that (don't use melee heroes bla bla etc).

The key to success in Guild Wars has always been adapting/changing your skills to match your environment. With Guild Wars being a 7 year old game as you mentioned, there are plenty of resources to take advantage of so that you always have that edge.

If you're using melee heroes, flag the entire party back to the furthest edge of the aggro bubble when you're just out of range, set them all to guard and pull the mobs out of the fort yourself by aggroing them. It's not hard. Also, if heroes are misbehaving, just flag them to a slightly different position.

Now that's weird, never had any problems during that mission, and I've done it like a bazillion times...

Pathing issues usually plague missions in Factions and its stick-prone NPCs...

^This. Don't let your heroes run around willy-nilly doing what they want and you will be much better off.

What seems likely, in both cases, is that you've got an enemy targeted that your heroes can't reach, due to other enemies body-blocking them, or terrain blocking. In that case, they will stand around and do nothing.

This.

And calling targets for your heroes works wonders. Many players don't do it, and it *really* helps.

If they get stuck again, call a target right next to them, and I'm guessing that they will magically spring back to life.

This is pretty simple mission, I just tried it with both MOX and Koss and had no problems, don't know what to say.

It's an easy mission. When your hero mix isn't working, try something different.
