Guild Wars: Eternity

So, I'm rapidly running out of steam to actually finish this project, which is already over 25,000 words long, and I've decided that if it's ever going to get finished, I'll need some community encouragement. Not to mention if it turns out no one's interested, it'd be nice to know now rather than another 25,000 words in.
Guild Wars: Eternity is a Guild Wars based tabletop roleplaying system I've been working on for about three weeks, now (start date was around April 23rd or April 24th). So it'll be interesting to see whether this gets more or less attention here or at a dedicated tabletop forum.
It isn't just a D20 rip. It's an entirely new system built from the ground up to make as much use of Guild Wars' skills and attributes as possible, so as to help capture the feeling of the game it's based off of. In order to keep the workload doable, however, I'm just doing Prophecies right now. If it's actually well-liked (on this forum or elsewhere), I'll write up the other campaigns and GW:EN later on.
Features include:
-Charr, dwarves, and humans as playable races
-Close to three dozen NPC races allowing for a wide variety of NPCs to be built within minutes
-A racial trait system that makes the races distinct from one another in a way that's more engaging than simple stat bonuses, and allows the playable races to be balanced across all professions while still being distinct from one another (so, for example, charr are not simply better at being warriors than everyone else, and someone playing a warrior will not be making a bad choice if they play as a human)
-3d6-based system that operates primarily off of attribute checks, including ten new core attributes so that (for example) people besides mesmers will stand a chance at sneaking around
-You can online with friends...Or your enemies
-MORE LIGHTS THAN YOUR BODY HAS ROOM FOR

I've decided to start a general development blog for both this project and any others (although since I usually only actively work on one project at a time, it's basically a development blog for Guild Wars: Eternity where I will occasionally bat around other, similar projects I'm currently thinking about but not actually working on). Since I eventually plan to start advertising Eternity on other websites once it's a bit more complete, this is a handy place to dump my updates and discussions on it rather than copy/pasting a post onto four or five different forums. It also means that each of my individual projects will act as free advertisement for all of the others, since they'll all be discussed on the same blog.
Anyways, I've already thrown up a post about the racial traits system in Guild Wars: Eternity, what it is, what problems it's supposed to solve, and how it will revolutionize the entire industry and make me a millionaire.
EDIT: Oh, I also thought I'd mention that the blog and this thread are basically interchangeable with regards to where you should leave comments, because while I'll eventually start directing other sites to the blog, right now it's just this one.

Heh, I've been wanting a tabletop game of GW for a while actually - I woulda worked on one a couple years back during the Great Silence of Anet, but I have too little experience with them. I look forward to seeing this progress.
I'd offer to help with the project but I got a lot of little projects of my own that I'm procrastinating with. Like writing up 8 or so bios for someone who paid me in advance to help flesh out their character stories with fancy paragraphs.

There is a new post on the blog about the game's shiny new character background system ("new" in the sense that the specific version I wrote just got completed, the concept is actually copied from a 3.5e homebrew from, like, 2006 or something).

I am in love with this idea. I've only ever played DnD once in my life and the whole time I was thinking, "there should be a GW version of this."
I'd offer help but I am beyond useless when it comes to tabletop RPGs.
Still, it's an excellent idea and you should definitely keep going with it.

Work on the project has been on a bit of a hiatus lately, but I'm starting to pick it up again. I have a question for Guild Wars players specifically, so I'll put it here instead of the blog: For each of the six core professions, what skills feel the most iconic to you? For example, would a Guild Wars Necromancer feel right if he couldn't drink blood or deal shadow damage? I'm trying to cull as many skills as possible (or collapse similar ones together), and I want to make sure I don't cut anything vital to the concept.

Hello there! I'd say all Pre Searing skills are a must. Also certain Elites. You'd want to grab all Elite Skills that are essential to the profession who would use them.

My blog is getting hits from a website that does not appear to exist and a Korean art gallery. What?

Just thought I'd post a status update letting people know that although work has slowed down significantly, it certainly hasn't halted. I'm trying to stop myself from overexerting myself (the last time I pushed myself past my limits, I crashed and it took about a year to recover), but I do make sure to write up at least one skillset per day. Assuming the slump doesn't pass, this means it'll be mid-July before the skills are even completed, and that's without particularly trying to balance them and there'll still be equipment to write up, not to mention taking the huge confusing mess that is my notes and turning them into a rules section that people besides me can make sense of. But things are coming along. Incidentally, I have yet to encounter something that makes these slumps evaporate faster than feeding my ego, which I grant you is harder to do when I haven't really produced anything like a finished product yet.

So the silence on these forums is probably not a good sign for the project's health. I've thrown up another post on the blog which basically just offers this link to an album of screenshots of the Google Doc. Guild Wars has some awesome sprites and artwork, so the upshot is that my amateur efforts look surprisingly professional. Hopefully this will kindle some new interest in the project.

it is exam time, people are a bit busy.
and reading a blog takes up a lot of time. But it is a wonderful project I hope you complete it.

Well I haven't responded due to business with rl stuff and I'm sure most folks are the same.
Seems I'm a bit late on the skills commenting though. Skimmed those images and it looks good thus far.

Not necessarily. I haven't even written the skills for the last four and a half professions and the ones that are written could still be shuffled around a bit.

Forgot to mention this when I put it up, but there is a new blog post.

Is your work going well? I'm really looking forward to play it with friends
