I made an account here after forgetting my old details/email i used years ago, and was posting about selling things in game, but ive been banned twice now and for no reason? well the first one was like okay, i get it, weird but okay i wont do that again (bumping my own thread)
then the ban passes and i make another and get banned for the same thing again, bumping my own thread. when that time i was actually replying to someone who wanted to buy my stuff.
ive never seen a forum with such strict posting rules before though, its pretty ridiculous. whats the point of not letting people reply to their buyers?
and a whole weeks ban just for that? rude.
I have a question about the forums

This probably belongs in Site Feedback (or, actually, should be discussed in PM with a moderator -- they don't want people whining about their bans in public), but what you're taking issue with is actually a very reasonable rule. Replying bumps your thread, plain and simple. It doesn't matter if it's to answer a question or to say "bump" -- it still gives your thread more exposure, and that's not fair to other people who also have threads. How would you feel if someone else got a bunch of questions in their thread, and their constant answers bumped your thread lower and out of visibility?
You answer questions via PM or edit your existing post(s) to address any questions that arise in the thread. And, by the way, you are allowed to self-bump, or answer questions in a new reply, once every 24 hours.
I know some of the rules here seem harsh (and I don't always agree with some of the actions the mods take), but for the most part the rules lend to a smoother running forum.

To summarize, the mods assume violations are intentional and would rather deal with any violations that were made in good faith.

The rules does clearly state that you are not allowed to bump your own thread more than once each 24 hours. That does include any kind of post made by you.
If you want to reply to buyers, simple send them a PM or wait unt the 24 hours is up.
Otherwise it would be pretty simple to always keep your own thread at top (having people writing and you replying to them and so on)

What lordkrall and star jewel say is pretty much true.
Ventari's has MORE rules than the rest of guru, please take the time to read thru them as well as the FAQ stickies posted at the top of each Ventari's section, these should answer your questions, if they dont THEN pm the moderator who gave you the infraction, they can explain the reason for it as well as the length of the ban.
and yes, you should pm the moderator first before posting a thread here on guru. You can also pm an admin or super moderator.
