Please put dates on bonus weekend announcements and remove when weekend over Anet...

Ok this really gets on my nerves, I log into guild wars and see the alliance battles bonus weekend, friday to sunday with times.....but NO dates?????

And the announcement is still up almost a week after the event has finished.

So im logging in today to take advantage of the bonus weekend and do some kurzick faction alliance battles....but find out from others it was last weekend and I missed it.

PLEASE PUT DATES FOR WEEKEND EVENTS AND TAKE THE ANNOUNCEMENT DOWN WHEN THE EVENT IS OVER PLEASE!!!!!

This has happend to me and others before, it's such a small thing to do no reason it is not done. I really appreciate you guys are still doing events, content and updates for GW1 even though GW2 is coming out but this is such a small thing to change and update I do not understand why it is not done.

Putting just "weekend fri to sunday and such time of day" is not enough. Please put dates and take down announcements after they are finished.

While I totally agree with ya, you're better off ranting here.

I agree that slapping a date on the login messages would be really helpful.

And when we had a dedicated (though small) Live Team, the messages would normally get updated in a timely fashion. The only consolation is that we are mostly on an automated rotation, so you can usually follow the predictions or the schedule from last year (and 2010).

There are some irregularities, of course -- annual holidays sometimes move slightly, and last weekend's AB event was wedged in to presumably promote the changes to that format. However, it appears we've stepped back into schedule this weekend with a Double Vanquish event.

I would just like them to announce SOMEPLACE--what the upcoming weekend is going to be--wiki can be wrong at times so checking it may or maynot give you the correct answer--
they can twit it blog it, heck tell someone to <gasp> make a thread here announcing it (that would take all of about 1 minute....thread title: weekend event date, thread this weekend is going to be xyz...from date to sunday time. thanks)
I dont care if they update the login announcement, just tell us what the weekend will be SOMEHOW.

I’ve been wondering about the lack of weekend event announcements as well. While I understand that GW2 is sucking the resources out everything right now, it seems strange that management made no provision for continuing simple tasks pertaining to GW1 such as updating the log-in screen with announcements regarding weekend events. Surely staff could have been assigned to this task so as not to take away time from everyone being able to play-test dungeons, etc.
