What's the most Cookie-cutter build right now?

I haven't played in years... I haven't played since back when Prophecy was the only game out. I probably have an older account on here, but I cannot remember the name or email I used.

Anyway, I was looking over the wiki and there are plenty of new abbreviations that I don't remember, so I was wondering what is the 'hammerdin' build of Guild Wars at the moment?

Sadly, I am disappointed with Diablo 3 and I thought why not just to get back into GW before GW2 is released?

I know people hate these threads and I saw on the Wiki they're called FOTM builds now, but I couldn't find any listed on the site. Are the builds that I am looking for considered the 'meta' builds listed under the PVE table?

Anyway, what is the current FOTM build for PVE? Thanks!

Linking Earthshaker made me laugh. Visit gwpvx (There's a link at the top), it has all the cookie cutter builds you could ever want for PvP and PvE.

I found my old account! It was so awesome to log back in and see my lvl 20 guy...

Even better was to realize that I was still getting birthday presents on the guy even though I haven't logged in in years. I had a present for my 6th Birthday on there.

I think I am going to make something other than a Warrior. It's my favorite class/style, but I already have a 20 and I am getting my cousin to play with me, so we're going to start over. I just realized that I could switch between the various second professions that I had completed (I don't remember being able to do this, but I probably could) so it would be a waste to make another warrior.

Ok, forget the cookie cutter builds. What would be one of the more fun classes to play (that I can still progress through the game)? I haven't played through since Prophecy, so everything will be quite new for me again. I may buy the expansions just to play as some of the new character types.

Any recommendations?

No-one knows knows what you find fun to play, but you yourself. As the others above have pointed out: check gwpvx and scroll through the general pve builds. Then choose a profession you think looks fun to play.

For what it's worth: my favorite profession is Necromancer, followed by Paragon... currently giving my Assassin some love as well^^

Like being said, don't ask for builds... pvx is a great site to get some good ideas.

For type of professions. This is a question being asked a million times as well and there is no straight forward answer.

All professions can finish the game with equally success. As a veteran player I really enjoy my paragon nowadays mainly cause it is goofy and doesn't stop amazing me. It is imo the most misunderstood profession and therefore the most surprising one.

some variation on the 7 hero player support build will serve you best i imagine.

As to high damage output player builds, which I assume is what you're asking for:

A/Any

Jagged Strike
Fox Fangs
Death Blossom
Way Of The Assasin (E)
Critical Eye
"I Am Unstoppable!"
Death's Charge
*Optional Slot*

I checked the FAQ and Rules part and I didn't see anything about not asking for builds. I'm sorry if I missed it.

Thanks for the input, guys. I think I might try an Assassin.

Random question:

If I have the expansion that lets me play as the Assassin (I believe it's the next one after Prophecy) can I still play with my Cousin who only has Prophecy?

Yes as long as you have Prophecies too you can , there is a quest to go back and forth from expansion to expansion
