Hi guys,

I am really interested in getting GWAMM before GW2 release. If I can play maybe 3-4 hours a day and maybe 6+ on weekends and I have a weeks leave coming up soon, Do you think it's possible to achieve? I have completed all campaigns on NM have access to all heroes and I am about 1/3rd through HM Tyria with my Warrior.

If you think its achievable any pro tips? i.e hero builds, easy ways to get through certain bits etc.

I know its no easy feat and I have maximum respect for those who have done it.

Anyone doing it on a second character that wouldnt mind me leeching that works for me too

Thanks in advance guys.

It is definitely doable. It is a huge grind though. So if you can tough it out... you good

It would depend where you are on the consumable titles like sweet tooth, drunkard and party animal. I believe you will need at least two of those.

If you have everything you need to max out two of those titles and do everything efficiently then you might be able to get it done - but it would be tough.

I am pretty minted if I am honest, A couple of my mates achieved 30/50 and knocked it on the head so I just took all their stuff (with their consent of course) I am around 6000/7000 in both Drunkard and Party Animal and maybe around 2000 on the sweet tooth title track too.

With the consumables where you say they are it can be done. And as long as you have some money to buy either elite tomes or signets to capture the elite skills you should be okay. They only other X-factor is time. Cartography and VQing take a pretty big time commitment even when done together. With what profession are you looking to do it on?

I have done it on a Warrior and Rit and maybe half way there on a Sin and Ele. Rit was probably the easiest for me and a large portion of that is because I did that one second so I knew what to expect and also had some extra cash. Good luck!

That's a high bar to set with two months to go. How many titles have you maxed at the moment and what are they?

Some basic tips:

Map zones while vanquishing to save time. Always take bounties to grind your reputation. Also take along DP removal sweets, like honeycombs. A stack will not hurt at all.

If you haven't been, hit the Zaishen dailies to get progress on HM missions as well as vanquishes and dungeon bosses. The coins will also provide money to buy consumables, which will be the major cash sink for the title. There are also enough days left before release you will be able to hit 60 of the 68 missions with pugged groups.

Explore Prophecy missions and cap any elite skills in NM.

Try to save up quest and book hand-ins to maximize progress on the Survivor track. You may need a spreadsheet to track all the exp.

Hit the upcoming event for victory tokens and prizes. Participate in as many finale events as you can, and afk for those you can't. This will net you extra consumables.

Consider this wiki article for an idea on what to go after:

I started going for 30/50 HoM last October and have recently completed GWAMM. One tip would be to do the consumable titles during special festivals, did mine easily on wintersday when prices were lower.

There's a guide to all the titles you can max and their duration on wiki, but you could choose LDoA / Survivor / Savior title to max 30.

Vanquisher was a grindfest for sure, with Tyria the longest, I averaged at about an hour per 300-400 foe area with 7 heroes. You could possibly speed it up with human players in a balanced team, cos sometimes you could miss the last patrol.. Try Completing Cantha and Elona vanquishes first while using Texmod to map out if you want to.

Cartographer - I had no problems with Texmod on Elona and Tyria. On Cantha I had to scrape alot of edges before I mapped JQ for my final %. Try getting that portal jump spot in Eredon Terrace for an easy 5%. You do not need to uncover all of Shiro's Banish areas nor all of JQ/FA.

Legendary Master of the North - you have some leeway to max this title, like skip 3 NM dungeons or 1 vanquish area, there's more on this on wiki. If dungeons get repetitive you could still find some runners that are still active.

EOTN rep titles - get Master Dungeon NM/HM books, and dont forget to use the NM one to add rep before reaching rank 8 of a rep title (if i'm not mistaken), cos once you reach 8 you cant use the NM book to add points. Most should be maxed / rank 9 after doing vanquishes, the rest could be speedbooked.

Skill Hunter - I used Mapping Out, to help as a checklist for elites capped.

Good luck!

Starting from scratch, I couldn't even imagine the amount of grind it would take. Even with some of the progress you do have, that's a tall order. Not saying it's not possible, it is. But I would assume that you would be so burnt out by the end of it that you wouldn't want to play GW2 on release anyway.

My suggestions:
  • Set up Wiki as your home page and check every zone you go into beforehand to see which skills you can cap while you're there. You're pretty much going to have to double and triple up actions as much as possible.
  • Participate in the Dragon Festival as much as you can to knock out the last of your consumable titles - or just buy them and ignore the Festival all together.
  • If you're not already hooked up with a guild that is active, find one fairly fast. You may actually have to hop guilds to meet up with people who do specific things (kurz/lux, Title Grind, etc).
  • Do the Daily zmission and zvanquish regularly. This will allow you to group up with other people that are doing the same thing as you. Also, save those zcoins for elite tomes. There are definitely more efficient ways of getting elite tomes, but it involves wasting a ton of time buying.
  • Don't try to focus on individual titles. Given the short amount of time that you have, you'll need to make sure that you're streamlining the process and making the most efficient progress.
  • If you have money, use it to buy the more taxing stuff (Tomes for Tyria Elites).
  • Make a list ahead of time to figure out the fastest possible route to accomplish GWAMM. Master of the North is one that takes forever and I would only do it if it meant you don't have to do kurz or lux. Prioritize the easier ones first. Your playstyle will dictate which ones seem more accessible to you.

Note: I currently have 2 GWAMMs and am 2 titles away from my 3rd, so I'm fairly experienced in this, but these suggestions are derived from my playstyle and may or may not be conducive to yours. Take these suggestions with a grain of salt.

Good luck! That's a heavy undertaking.

It's possible if you play 24/7 or have a lot of money, if you really want it I would start immediately but don't expect to have much fun you are gonna be grinding constantly -_- I would not worry about it since I believe ANet stated HoM rewards are still obtainable after GW2 release, meaning you can still get your 30/50 while playing GW2 just hopping on GW1 once in a while so it isn't such a grind.

Money can be grinded pretty fast if you do speed clears of DoA or FoW. Neither is too hard to learn. If you have a sin, you can Vaettir farm. If you have a warrior you can raptor farm. If you have a Rit you can Ecto farm. These all bring in good gold. Plus you can make a lot farming Nick items.

The problem with GWAMM is some of the titles that can't be bought. Cartographer requires a lot of scraping against walls and use of texmod. Vanquishing Tyria takes a tremendous amount of time. Acquiring all the skills also takes an extremely long time. I got to 48 and stopped at the end. The ones I could buy were easy, and even vanquishing Cantha and Elona was okay, but halfway through Tyria and nowhere near the other time consuming skills, I had to give up.

I was in the same position as you when I decided to go for it last year - after 6 years of never chasing titles. I logged about an extra 600 hours getting it, that was a comfortable pace me, although I probably wasted a reasonable amount of time.

The playing hours you suggested leave you with about 250 hours - I can't see you doing it even if you don't waste time.

Thanks for the responses guys, I do think I came back to the party a little late. As Rukia said though I dont want to be burned out when GW2 finally drops. I guess i'll just stick to my 43/50 HoM and get all Jelly when I see others with the "GWAMM" title. ill take the next 2 months to rest up abit

Well.. I thought you were starting from much less, I can see you finishing it up pretty easily in that time.

If you can, check the HoM calculator and post the list of your missing "Honor" statues. That will give us a much better idea of what kind of advice to give.
