I'm thinking that we should all come together and have a Guild Wars Fair-well event just before release. Probably the 24th of August.
Event would be held in Lion's Arch. Massive give-away(s) to those who haven't finished their HoM. I know the game will still be running, but the vast, vast majority of players will be transferring over to Guild Wars 2. I personally believe it would be a wonderful idea to throw a party to show our appreciation for so many great years in this excellent game and to celebrate the release of Guild Wars 2.

There are many guilds considering this as we speak. It would be good to get a list of guilds that are going to have some form of activity and promote around it, Gaille did say something about devs hoping on the server pre gw2 release when that is not sure, but I am sure they will organise an event themselves as well. Try posting in the local areas, Spama, LA, and maybe KC, ToA, GtoB, even JQ and FA collective areas and see if you can start forming a large group to host districts. Just an idea.

We had a meeting today with a few website and some alliances to plan our somewhat of a Farewell Party for the 18th of August. We figured the 24th would be a time for PRE-GW 2 sleep haha (Like that is really gonna happen...but we can dream right?)
Details are on the End of an Era Thread. Basically we are meeting in the International Districts of Ascalon City and groups are just taking up districts. A few members from the community are creating trivia that we are distributing to district hosts as they arise We are also creating an Audio/Video Thank Card for Arenanet
