RA - build help

Been away 3 years almost (last visit here was 21 of July 2009).
Now, I wanna play some RA again and I need some help.
I usually played Monk with some variation on WoH.
Found the following build.

Since I been away I don't understand all the equipment setup.

A 40/20% Protection Staff of Enchanting(if using guardian/shielding hands).
A 40/20% Healing staff of Enchanting.
(A 40/40 Heal Set. Found answer, 40/40 refers to a weapon set composed of a wand and a focus, each with 20% HCT and 20% HSR upgrades devoted to a single attribute. Despite the term, a 40/40 set does not have a 40% chance of halving casting and/or spell recharge times.)
A max Q7/15AL Tactics shield with +10 armor vs slashing.

The build i use when im monking is a little different, take out balanced stance/cure hex/spotless mind, add dolyak sig/holy veil/vigorous spirit. Hex heavy teams are not in RA that much anymore. The meta for now is everyone running eles, so take +10 vs earth/fire/air. Main weapon set should be spear +5e +30hp with shield. Constant adrenaline build auto attacking with spear. Have at least 600hp, and use insignas for enchanted and affected by conditions. That should be good enough to get you back into the game and working off the rust. Good luck, RA is full of whiners so dont get annoyed by them blaming you for losing. Keep practicing!

1. A 40/20/20% Protection Staff of Enchanting is self explanatory. You cast your prot spells with this staff. The 40% halve casting time will cut your prot spells casting time, The 20% will reduce the recharge time and the other 20% will increase your enchantment duration. With correct protting and increase in your enchantment duration, you will be able to prevent damage which in turn require you to heal less which means you save energy.

2. The 40/20/20 Heal Staff is no different than the prot staff except that now it comes from healing prayers. The reason why you use this is only for Spotless mind. With the enchant mod again, your able to drop 3 hexes off one of your ally with just 1 cast. Always cast Spotless Mind on your staff unless for some weird reason you have an enchant mod on your defense set.

Since your using that wiki bar, You can replace your prot staff with the healing staff since your only other prot spell is draw condition and it has a 1/4 casting time making it pointless to use a prot staff.

3. The 40/40 Heal Set is self explanatory as well. Use this set to cast WoH to prevent WoH from getting interrupted.

4. If you play monk seriously, don't just get 1 Q7/15 Tactics shield, you have to get about 8 shields. All shields with hp+30 mod with armor+10 vs slashing, blunt, piercing, lightning, fire, ice, earth and anti cripple. Put in 8 points to tactics meaning you meet the requirement for the extra 15 armor. You put 8 points to tactics because if you get weakened (-1 to all attributes) you still meet the requirement for the 15 armor.

So to recap how much armor you have: 60 (base Armor), +15 from your shield, +10 vs a specific damage, +5 from your spear (or your choice of hp+30) and an extra 15 from your disciples insignia which i assume your using. So you have about 100-105 armor if all conditions are met.

How do you get +10 armor? I can only see +5 vs slashing/blunt/...?!
Also, are we talking about the shield you choose in the PvP pane?
It's not PvE shields?

its an inscription. Armor+10 is max. Just buy inscribable Q7/15 tactics shields from players. Put hp+30 shield handle on it and put the armor+10 inscription on them. There are no req. 7/8 tactics shield in the pvp pane. You only get them in pve.

Message me in game I'll sell you the whole Armor+10 inscription set except for blunt.
