So,
I am trying to complete prophecies for the first time after having the game and playing off and on for the last 6 years or so. I have finally made to the ring of fire island chain. Not being one to bother people for help in missions, is it possible to run these last 3 missions with npcs alone? I have all of the important heroes, like I can run sabway, discordway etc. builds just fine.

I did it long before 7 heroes was even an option, with henchman. You should be able to handle the Ring of Fire. Just don't hurry yourself.

Taking along the ranger skill Winter helps also......either on yourself or a hero. If you put it on a hero, you will have to manage the skill yourself to make best use of it.

Winter only makes a difference in the last one (hell's precipice). A party running skill to get to the bonusguy more quickly can be handy in that mission (but optional).

The only real problem with heroes in that mission are the either seals. The energy drain and the hero's ai that don't take the energydrain into account is a bit tricky. But pulling the groups away with a bow before going after the seals themselfes solves the problem.

I did both the mission and bonus on HM and NM with heroes and decent builds it is pretty easy

Yeah Eternal Grove and Dzagonur Bastian are the biggest pain in the rear for soloing in GW. Bastion once you get used to the timing and positioning isnt too too bad. Eternal Grove...hard to keep tree singers alive solo in HM...easy if you do it with a capable 2nd person.

Gate of Madness? For the bonus, I just use the exploit option off flagging heroes to each shrine while your standing outside. Killing Shiro and the Lich are not difficult at all with most of the popular 7 hero builds...especially with spirit heavy builds...even in HM.

Eternal Grove indeed is very challenging (I'm talking about HM here). I've done it quite recently but still it required few restarts due to wiping ofc.
Dzagonaur Bastion isn't that hard because you can let them break a defense point and still get bonus. All you have to do is to come up with a plan and get the timing good enough.
Gate of Madness? I find this to be one of the easiest missions in game. You have to kill lich first and then you just leave a minion or spirits to distract shiro for a bit until you clear the shrines, you can pop up new spirits to tank after each shrine you cleared, you shouldnt take any damage from him really if you do it properly. When you capture all shrines killing him is easy.

Ring of fire I would suggest bringing minions and some melee damage. That way you can kill seals quickly since you won't be that depended on enemy damage. Pull of other foes outside before you engage the seal ofc.

Yes ring of fire missions are definitely possible with npc's alone. It took me a few tries though my first time. For hell's precipice the only hard part imo is getting past those lava or fire imps as they do a lot of AoE damage, so make sure to flag your npc's apart from each other so your whole party doesn't wipe. Good luck!

Winter shuts down the drakes, with it up there's no fire damage to light up your npcs ... And it's only one skill.

The only real problem with heroes in that mission are the either seals. Pets and longbows with a little height advantage can reach them from beyond the energy-draining field. Adrenaline based melee should work too.

If you go for the frontal assault on the fortress (which is less trouble then the backdoor btw) clear out the area before the gate and draw as many of the mursaat as you can. Then you can dash past the two seals behind the gate to a quiet and relatively safe area to the right/north (opposite the bridge). From there you can kill the remaining mursaat before you take out the remaining seals.
