That's an ugly one. I tried back way and eliminate 3 groups before king spawns, but 4th group destroyed me. I can't see how I will handle lvl 42 Armageddon Lord, two charr Flame wielders, charr healer (Shadow iirc), charr axe wielder and avenger having only 4man party. Even if I meet with king and his friends, it's no good. His guards die almost instantly and his priest shortly after. Damage is so intense that Shelter disappears in a second.
I used ST rit, SoS rit with heals and MM bomber. My character is a warrior (currently enduring axe build with SY). Summoning stone of course too.
Any tips? That quest drives me nuts. I completed Defend Droknars, Denravi and DNKP quite easily, but this one is a brick wall.
If all else fails, I will take 8 man group from ToA and run to Ascalon, but I hoped not to do that.
Last Day Dawns HM

We have a thread somewhere for it, I can't find it though. It was only a few days after the HM quests were introduced. Warriors really suck for this quest. I was using the same setup, except a Panic mesmer instead of MM iirc. Minion bomber is completely useless for that quest. I brought Angelic Protection on the ST rit, it works fantastic for saving the healer at the start. EVAS, YMLaD, and technobabble will make your life easy. You absolutely have to take out the charr quickly, panic is pretty much the only option so ST doesn't drop in a second from all the damage. you also have to keep the ST rit flagged back so he doesn't get aggroed. If it's not working out still, switch to Dslash so you can spam SY more and knocklock charr with brawling headbutt. The worst case will always be caravaning from ToA for easy mode, but if that's what it takes.

I tried Panic too (in exchange for MM). Battle with Armageddon Lord went a little better, but I still wiped. I'll definitely try Angelic Protection. As for PvE skills, I was using Whirlwind attack, Pain Inverter (usually it took two PIs to finish Armageddon Lord) and SY. I guess trying EVAS won't hurt (I don't like 10 energy cost though ).
It looked like 5th wave won't wait and will spawn and come even if I haven't finished 4th wave. With 4 toons it's kinda tough.
This quest is an absolute nightmare for warrior primary. Did you use normal panic build or some sort of hybrid? Using typical panic would leave me with only 3-4 healing skills on SoS/Resto.

I think my method isn't the most used method but it did work nicely. I combined this quest with the tyria vanguishing title. I started in Temple of the ages and vanguished The Black Curtain - Cursed Lands - Nebo Terrace - North Kryta Province - Scoundrel's Rise - Griffon's Mouth - Deldrimor Bowl - Anvil Rock - Iron Horse Mine - Traveler's Vale - Ascalon Foothills - Diessa Lowlands - The Breach - Old Ascalon - Regent Valley - Pockmark Flats - Eastern Frontier (in that order) and did that quest at the end as well. Took a long time, and several merchant stones but the result is that you have a party of 8 and did a very large portion of the vanguishing title. Not very recommended, but it is a way to do it.

I will probably do that, although not for vanquishing (did that long time ago, titan quests HM are the only pve thing my warrior did not complete yet). My warrior is from Prophecies campaing, it will be good to return home

You could try putting spirit light on panic so you have a spot heal. I'm not sure if I did so. Pain Inverter is also a good option. If you're going to run it, two copies of Fall Back should be enough. Still have to kill stuff in a couple areas like Mergoyles and Ice Elementals.

There's still a good chance of failing even with eight, due to the king.
I seem to remember circling around the back and flagging my heroes into
aggro range to pull groups to me. If your heroes aggro the groups, the
king and his group don't get involved.
I don't remember exactly how close real players can get without activating
the king. You might do a test run to give you an idea of the radius.

I finally gave up and caravaned from ToA. Didn't take that long. Went back route and destroyed 3 groups with Armageddon Lords. When I moved closer to 4th group, king activated (radius seems to be around 1.5 aggro bubble). His guards fell almost instantly (Smash of the Titans is ridiculous ) but I was able to keep priest alive with Angelic Protection. Kings HP dropped to 50% once but we survived
There is a detailed map on wiki that shows exactly what is aggro radius and when king starts to run.
Titan Source HM is next, I'll probably start from Yak's this time for 6 man party.

Glad you got it. It's by far, the worst of the HM titan quests.
Titan Source is a piece of cake by comparison. Good Luck
