Can I pre-download Guild Wars 2 anywhere?

I'm only going to be able to play on the 28th so I was just wondering ^^^

1. Login to your account: https://account.guildwars2.com/download
2. Download the client.
3. Create an -image shortcut. ( C:\...\Guild Wars 2\gw2.exe -image )
4. Run the shortcut and give it a number of hours to pre-download.
5. Best to keep further Guild Wars 2 questions on GuildWars2Guru.com

If he can play only starting from 28 you might want to assume he doesn't have his gw2 yet (probably he got the box version not the digital one). In this case he can't go to https://account.guildwars2.com/download cause to get there you need to register and the first registration step is to insert your gw2 serial. (If he got the digital version and he can download the files then he has internet access and time so I see no reason why he wouldn't play from the first moment he can. Also if he already received his box version then most part of the client is on the dvd he got, except some recent updates that he will download fast so no real reason to download the files and his client will update it anyway without the need to login.)

The only alternative I know to get the files without having yet your gw2 serial is to download the installer from here http://cloudfront.guildwars2.com/client/Gw2.exe copy/move it in the folder where he wants to install the client and run it (you might want to unblock it else it will always ask you if you allow it to run) (also from what I noticed it didn't made any shortcuts in my case on desktop or start menu i had to do them by hand). It will take several hours, in my cases my download line allows me to get files with 5-6 MB/s but the gw2 files download speed never passed 1,2 MB/s. As a note I can't guarante that this will actualy work but it's the only way I know, unless someone that already can play gw2 post the link from where he downloaded the installer.

L.E.: I'm somehow in same situation as him. I ordered the box version and well in best case the box will get to me on 29, to be honest I think i will get it on 30 or even later (why so late only the owners of the shop I ordered from knows why their provider don't help them deliver the game on 28).
