Idea - Guild Wars 1 only guild formation

Well,

if you are in a guild anything like the one I am in then the guild has died a death.

It is completely understandable as people move to GW2 and good luck to all of them and I hope they all enjoy it.

I am stuck with a difficult decision here. Buy a new PC capable of running the game which I can ill afford or continue to stay in GW1.

Given that I may be in the same situation as many others, then is there an appetite for clubbing together to create a new guild / take over an existing guild and populate that guild with a load of GW1 players who will not be playing GW2 for the reasons described above / personal preference?

Any appetite for this? I am mooting the proposition around and do not care who is appointed leader either - just want an active GW1 guild.

Yeah, i've been thinking the same thing lately. Maybe get the community to agree on joining only two guilds - one kurzic and one luxon, or 2 or 3 guilds of each.

I have also been thinking its time maybe to get the community to move to embark beach, and use that as the new trading post instead of kamadan for two reasons: 1. you go there anyway to pick up zaishen vq and 2. we could help out newbies with missions and stuff from there.

But it would mean the whole community that's left in the game cooperating, and when is that ever going to happen?

It would be awesome for that to happen, but I don't think many people would like to leave their guilds if they are a close knit group of people that have played together for a while (me). Perhaps have 2 or three alliances on kurz/lux side. That would allow pvp people to have their own guilds, people wanting to join a new guild and meet new people could do that, and the community would be more consolidated even more-so than it is right now.

I agree with ultimak719. In my case I'm even more reluctant since my guild is made up of people who know each other IRL, though only three of our members are still active outside of holiday events and I'm the only one regularly so. It would be nice to be part of a real alliance, though.

The problem is you can't get not even majority of community to cooperate. Too many bookahs from different countries speaking different languages.

gteddie that is a wonderful idea, even though, like many, I am in my guild for life although most have moved on to GW2. I support the move to embark beach and probably to Int1 as well.

I've been thinking about moving to a new active guild as well. My current guild has been my home since I started playing GW1, but everyone in both my guild and alliance moved to GW2. And I must admit, GW is pretty boring with nobody to team or chat with. We will need a lot of people to form an active alliance though.

I support the idea as well..... i think the remaining player base should ban together into tighter-net alliances. And moving trading to Embark seems logical..(it did when Embark was first released, in my opinion)

I'm a returning player from GW2 (even though I will play that as well), but can't find any proper guild (posted on guru before, got no replies).

I am currently the only one active in my GW1 guild.
However, i created it and dont want to give up my Guild (name,GH and cape)

Obviously, i am very willing to accept new members.
I have to mention though that i dont care much for HM or PvP

I also need a new PC for GW2, and dont see that happening for at least a few months.
I'll continue playing GW1 active enough till then.

I'm still GW1'ing it up

To the op I would just look around for an active GW1 guild.I will have to look avenually for new guildies.
